“Infinite Beauty”: Official Logo of Hair & Makeup by Say Tioco Artillero

ARTILLERO

I proudly present to you, my dear readers, the logo of Makeup by Say Tioco Artillero.

Infinite Beauty

|Watermarked for the sake of protection|

Background: This logo is the product of my project for my Business Communication class. I wanted to add more personality, originality, and more character to my blog as well as my business cards. I came up with an idea of bringing together my passion and my business.

Meaning: It is not a secret how much I love wearing red lip color. Personally, I feel that red lips is the totality of women’s beauty. It exudes passion, class, fierceness, confidence, and unique character. The figure “8” that you see in the middle is the infinity symbol. I embedded this symbol on the red kiss mark primarily because Makeup by Say Tioco Artillero promises infinite beauty to her clients through her services. The word “Bellissima” (meaning “Beautiful” in Italian) inside the infinity symbol, is a reminder that you can always expect great outcomes with Makeup by Say Tioco Artillero.

Note: Stay tuned for more upgrades and improvements in the next days…

As always, I am always thankful to all my readers, fans, customers and clients. You guys brought me to where I am right now.

Ask Say (Week 3)

HPIM2610

Kelly Wong: What foundation will you recommend for combination skin?

A: According to my research, cream-to-powder bases work great for combination skin. Mineral foundations work well on all skin types, especially sensitive skin. I recommend James Cooper Cream Foundation, Fanny Serrano’s Two Way Cake, and Maybelline’s selection of mineral foundations *which you will be able to see easily @ the Maybelline counter.

Yhang Bongcawil: i know, this isnt about "make ups" but, please please share us (some) how you met your bf ♥

A: I met Paulo when I was in fourth year high school. We became friends and eventually became really close…and then one day, poof! We became KoKo Krunch!

Sandee Proud: Hi Say!! Im Sandee From MakeupBySandeeTv :) I Just Wanna ASk If What Is The Best Water Proof Mascara & Also The Foundation .. :) Need Namin For Photoshoot.. :) & I have a Curly Hair Nuh po ung mgnda na NilalaGay .. Para Ma Prevent ung Pagka Dry & Frizzy :) Kci Nag Straighten My Hair Using Flat IRON.. That's It Say! I Hope You Answer :) My Question Love you!

A: Hi Sandee! The best waterproof mascara I can recommend is Maybelline’s waterproof mascaras (I trust Maybelline when it comes to this stuff) Waterproof Foundation—I cannot really give a definite answer, but I guess the James Cooper Cream Foundation would work. To prevent curls from drying and frizzing up, use hair products from Watsons! They have a lot of hair products which you will easily be able to spot. I’m sure one of those products there would cater to preventing hair from drying up and frizzing.

Rochelle Anne Barrios Balida: hi miss say..do you know po any palettes na puro matte ung eyeshadow?where can i buy it and how much po?thank you ♥

A: Hi Rochelle! The LuLu Makeup will surely have one of those palettes. Please to to www.thelulumakeup.tk for more information. *Click the eyeshadow palettes tab* Prices are also available there.

Lavigaw Cariazo: WHERE DO U GET UR CONTACTS OR CIRCLE LENSES ? [;
XOXO !

A: What you always see me wearing are not circle lenses. I have never worn circle lenses before. I wear contacts to see better because my eyesight is really poorer that poor. I got them from my eye doctor. I believe they came from a store here in Quiapo called “Sundin”. (light brown inner rim, blue middle rim, black outer rim)

Ivy Boto: What do you usually bring in your purse?

A: A lot of stuff! I’ll do a separate video on that.

Shimmerjjang Andhie-- i'm a fan of yours! weeee~what do you think is the best concealer in covering up zits or pimples in times of emergency???kkkk~

A: Thank you dear! Best concealer would have to be LuLu Makeup’s Concealer!!! Visit http://www.thelulumakeup.tk

Michelle Grace Magramo-- Repost: I know you're not a BB cream fan but are you willing to try one out? Why or why not? :)

A: Yes, you are right, I don’t like BB Creams. But I am willing to give it a try again. ;) I think I just haven’t found the right BB Cream for me.

Merrylyn Choo-- Hi I know I have asked you about online website that ships to uk! But is an online site you know that ships internationally! Like Asian cosmetics even if it's not from phili! Just some trusted and affordable online site! Thanks...and lastly what are your fav brush brands?

A: Hi Merrylyn, I really cannot give you a definite answer. I’m sure that LuLu Makeup would ship internationally, though. My favorite brush brands are Dollface Cosmetics, Marionnaud (from Watsons), and Fanny Serrano *which I forgot to mention in the video.

Kristianne Anvi Marie Caayao-- Hi, Say! I'm gonna ask you this question coz I'm really curious. Do you or did you ever go to school without make-up? And, when did you start wearing make-up for school? Thanks!

A: Yes, I have gone to school for YEARS without makeup on.  I started wearing foundation when I had a bad case of acne. I would just slap the foundation all over my face and feel great. That was the biggest mistake ever! When I entered HS4-college, I finally learned how to properly apply makeup! That’s when this whole YT thing started happening.

Sannie Mae: Say! I had fun watching your 'Ask Say' Vids! Stay happy and in love! :D

A: Sannie! I miss you! Hope to see you and Genn soon!

Zarah Libozada:  how to make your make-up last long? especially the lipstick. and how to prevent ur eyeliner from ur upperlash to smudge in your lowerlash...nagmumukha po kasi mega laki eye bags. :-/

A: Use Skin Hour’s Mattifying Day Cream (for the face), Etude House sells a lipstick base (which will make your lip color last longer and look more vibrant in terms of color) Use a gel eyeliner that is smudge proof. I recommend Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner.

Overview: LipIce & SunPlay Products

Jem C. Ong, the brand associate of LipIce and SunPlay contacted me a few weeks ago and expressed their wish to introduce the products to me. I gladly accepted since I’ve been wanting to try these products ever since I saw them displayed @ Watsons. I want to give my readers a brief overview about these products, especially to those who are skeptical, or those who have yet to try them out (just like me!)DSC02508Let us start of with the lips!

“Our lips are comprised of the thinnest layers of skin in our body. Because of this lack of skin, they are much more prone to drying out, along with other various problems such as burning from the sun and wind.”

Lip Skin does not have:

  • oil secretion to keep them moisturized
  • protection layer to protect them from the harsh environment
  • enough pigments to protect against sunlight

Exposure to the sun, wind and cold air can cause extremely dry and sometimes chapped lips.

Our Habits: Lip-licking actually dries out your lips! The moisture is temporary and can leave your lips bare.

The Solution… LIP ICE LIP BALM!DSC02512“LipIce is the newest lip care brand that sets the trend with its fun and innovative products. LipIce offers a wide range of lip care products to pamper your lips. From flavorful fruity lip balms to dazzling glosses. LipIce has a product for all age groups, every occasion, and lifestyle. Love your Lips!”

Introducing… LIPICE FRUITY!

  • for everyday sun protected and yummy flavored lips
  • fruity flavored lip balms in 5 yummy variants—lemon, apple, strawberry, grape, black currant, and mandarin orange.
  • has SPF15 sunscreen protection
  • it has a cooling sensation
  • PHP 89.00
  • exclusively available at Watsons

DSC02505DSC02506DSC02507

And now for the next product…LIP ICE SHEER COLOR!

  • instantly goes from clear to sheer pink
  • transforms into a pink tint that’s personalized and uniquely you
  • contains beeswax for extra moisturizing
  • enriched with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera for smooth and healthy lips
  • comes in fragrance-free and strawberry variants
  • PHP 145.00
  • exclusively available at Watson’s

DSC02499DSC02503

*Also available (not in photo):

  3. Cool Aqua for Men PHP 99.00
  4. Therapy Lip Balm PHP 99.00
  5. Therapy Gel PHP 108

Now let’s move on to the SKIN!

Sun Facts:

  • the sun emits UVA rays which causes skin aging and darkening
  • 80% of the sun’s harmful UV rays penetrate the earth’s atmosphere even on cloudy days
  • UV rays are strongest in places located near the equator, such as our country, the Philippines
  • UV rays travel only a short distance thru the atmosphere to reach these places
  • The ozone layer, a barrier that absorbs UV rays are also thinner near the equator

THE SOLUTION…SUNPLAY!

“SunPlay offers ultimate sun protection with its high SPF and PA yet retains its light and non-greasy texture.”

1. SUNPLAY POWDERY WHITE—triple action sunblock for daily use

  • Whitens: Vitamin C lightens skin, decreases melanin development—the pigment responsible for skin color. Silk powder reduces dark spots.
  • Repairs: Witch Hazel Extract has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, repairing skin and reducing blemishes.
  • Protects:
  • Vitamin C & E neutralizes free radicals that protect against premature skin aging.
  • SPF 47 effectively shields against UVB rays. Provides 47 times protection against sunburn as compared to skin without sunblock.
  • PA+++ gives highest protection against UVA rays. Provides more than 8 times protection against skin darkening.
  • Revolutionary Watery Liquid Formulation gives SunPlay a weightless and non-greasy feel.
  • PHP 349.00
  • exclusively available @ Watsons’s

DSC02497

2. SUNPLAY CLEAR WATER—moisturizing sunblock for daily use

  • Aloe vera extract keeps skin soft and supple.
  • SPF 50 effectively shields against UVB rays. Provides 50 times protection against sunburn as compared to skin without sunblock
  • PA+++ gives highest protection against UVA rays. Provides more than 8 times protection against skin darkening.
  • Revolutionary Clear Watery Liquid Formulation provides transparent protection that’s weightless and non-greasy
  • PHP 349.00
  • exclusively available at Watson’s

DSC02498Let me tell you something about the Revolutionary Watery Liquid Formulation:

  1. Combines UV reflectant an UV absorbent ingredients to effectively screen against both UVA and UVB rays
  2. Revolutionary technology provides superior broad spectrum protection yet gives SunPlay its lightweight, non greasy texture

SunPlay Product Offering:

  • Super Block (maximum, PHP349.00)
  • Watery Cool (cooling, PHP 349.00)
  • Powdery White (whitening, PHP 349.00)

Review: James Cooper Kiss Proof Lip Gloss

HPIM2551I recently tried out makeup products from the James Cooper Jazzy Collection line and this is going to be a review on the James Cooper Kiss Proof Lip Gloss.

WHERE TO BUY:

WATSONS (James Cooper counter) SM City Manila

PRICE: PHP 399.00

SHADE: KP005

MADE IN FRANCE; 10 mlHPIM2566

PROS:

  1. Beautiful packaging (box like that of MAC’s)
  2. No pungent smell
  3. Kiss proof (color does not transfer)
  4. Very pigmented
  5. Beautiful shades available

CONS:

  1. Sticky
  2. Heavy formula
  3. Color CRACKS after a few hours
  4. No moisturizing balm to prevent #3
  5. Kind of pricey

IMG_2759*In the video, I compared this product to the L’Oreal Infallible Lip Color that I bought online when I found out about it through Judy of ItsJudyTime. Both works basically the same way, it’s just that the James Cooper Lip Gloss is much more pigmented. The L’oreal Infallible’s stronger side is that it comes with the conditioning top coat (which you will see in the video) and the James Cooper Gloss does not. So there is no way to prevent color-cracking for the latter.

However, I tried using the conditioning top coat from the L’Oreal Infallible Lip Color on top of the James Cooper Lip Gloss and it actually worked well. The surface was noticeably moisturized, hence delaying or even totally preventing the color from cracking. AND STILL REMAINING KISS PROOF *which you will witness in the video below*

So I guess it’s the best remedy I can recommend to everyone who would love to try the James Cooper Kiss Proof Lip Gloss sans the cracking color!

I got my L’Oreal Infallible Lip Color from this online store, you can go right ahead and order from them! They’re much cheaper too!

So I guess that’s a case solved! I hope this review was helpful, darlings!

How to: Applying Faux Lashes + my Lash Business

HPIM2543There are no words on how to express my love for falsies. I have started wearing them to school everyday about 2-3 weeks ago. It just completes everything! This is a tutorial on how to apply false lashes! It’s easy as 1, 2, 3…

FIRST FEW THINGS YOU NEED TO DO:

1. Line your eyes (use gel liner, liquid liner, black eyeshadow…)—we do this for the lashes to be able to look “natural” on the lashline. People should not see where it ends nor it begins.

2. Line your upper waterline—this will make your eyes look more deep-set and will make the lashes look fuller.

NEEDED:

1. A pair of your favorite lashes—my personal favorites are: Etude House lashes (cheapest at PHP 198.00), Shawill lashes (ranges from 59-70 pesos), Saizen lashes (all for PHP 85.00), and Foli Lashes (8 pairs for only PHP 100.00)

2. Lash adhesive—what I recommend: Lash Grip (PHP 195.00 from Beauty Bar) Etude House Eyelash Glue (the tiny ones that come with a pair of lashes when you buy it)

3. A mirror

Procedure:

1. Apply a thin strip of lash adhesive on the lashes

2. Look down on the mirror

3. APPLY AS CLOSE TO THE LASHLINE AS POSSIBLE *REALLY CLOSE*

Watch me as I demonstrate how I apply faux lashes:

MY FAUX LASH BUSINESS:

From my passion for lashes sprouted an business idea with my boyfriend Paulo. I am now selling lash sets! I’ve officially announced this last Sunday, but never really had the time to blog about it. So here we go!

This was the video I posted last Sunday which caused the pouring of orders for lashes!

It’s been a constant struggle for me to find lash sets here in Manila. As a freelance makeup artist, I need lash sets for gigs and the likes. I hate how much online stores sell a set of 10 pairs of lashes for PHP250 above. It’s just too unreasonable for me but I totally understand since I am a Marketing student.

I wanted to help other freelance makeup artists + makeup junkies here in Metro Manila to get hold of lash sets without having to shell out too much money. Since I believe in paying it forward, I decided to share to everyone the lash sets which my boyfriend Paulo sent me. We brainstormed and came to a decision of selling the lashes at an affordable price.

8 pairs of lashes for only PHP 100.00!

Yes, you read that right, darling. Only 100.00. We have actually sold out our first batch as of July 21, 2011. The second batch will be arriving next week July 25 or 26.

Okay, hold on! Here’s how you can order.

Our first batch of orders were actually very chaotic. Orders here, orders there, orders everywhere! Now that we are entering our second batch, I want to give my customers a few guidelines:

  1. FULL NAME
  2. LASHES TO BE ORDERED *name and number of sets* (I’ll be putting names for the lashes)
  3. ADDRESS FOR SHIPPING
  4. INDICATE IF YOU WANT TO MEET-UP INSTEAD (Please be reminded that I have a very tight schedule and reserve the right to decline meet-up dates if not possible. Meet-up schedules will vary from customer to customer.)
  • Be reminded that you will be shouldering the shipping fee *upon receiving your address, I will be calculating the shipping fee using Air21’s Rate Calculator (official courier)
  • Payment details are as follows:
  1. Total amount will be texted by myself to your mobile number as soon as I receive your full details
  2. Deposit the said amount to BDO Quiapo-Quinta Market Branch under the Account Name: Lindsay Tioco Artillero and Account Number: 4230056705
  3. IMPORTANT: Upon depositing, you have to inform me right away in which bank you made the transaction in for me to be able to check and have your orders shipped at once.

RESERVATION BASIS!

Text me as soon as you figure out which styles and how many sets you would like to purchase.

NEXT BATCH WILL BE POSTED ON MY FAN PAGE ON TUESDAY JULY 26, 2011

Thank you so much to all my customers! Happy shopping next week!

For more inquiries, text me at 09156218309 or email me at saytiocoartillero@gmail.com

How-to: Redefining Your Brows

HPIM2538I was known for my horrible brows when I was just started out in the YouTube community. It took me over a year to finally “almost-perfect” my brow shape and how I redefine it. I am not claiming that I’m an expert at this stuff, but I’m proud to say that this is my tutorial on doing my brows (something which I always hesitated to do before) Hope this helps, my darlings!

Products that I use:

  1. Fanny Serrano #7 Angled Brush (PHP150-200, SM Department Store, Fanny Serrano)
  2. Maybelline Brow Definist by Eyestudio (PHP400-500, Maybelline Counters)

Procedure:

  1. Load up your brush with the wax from the Maybelline Browdefinist and start outlining your brows.
  2. Load up the same brush with the eyeshadow from the same product and fill in the sparse areas, darkening the outer portion outward.
  3. Create a subtle and sharp end
  4. When it comes to the beginning of your brows, lightly flick the eyeshadow-loaded brush up and lightly fill in the sparse areas around there
  5. Don’t forget to highlight the brow bone to accentuate the shape of your brows

“Ask Say” Vlogs (1 & 2)

I’ve started a whole new segment on my YouTube Channel and I call it the “Ask Say”! We’re on our third week right now but I just wanted to fully introduce the first two Ask Say vlogs that I have already uploaded the past two weeks.

Ask Say vlogs are basically videos wherein I answer all the questions that are asked in my Facebook fan page. I will be posting a status message every Friday signaling the start of my collection of questions that will be included in the weekly Ask Say vlogs.

Ask Say vlogs go up on Mondays which gives me the whole weekend (Saturday and Sunday) to film and edit. I entertain questions till the very last minute! Usually I end the thread by saying I’m already in the process of filming the said video.

Watch Ask Say Week ONE:

Special mention to these lovely ladies who sent in their questions: Merrylyn Choo, Lolli Pwnthis, Giezelle Uy, Sarah Cruz, Xhan Xhan Macapagal, Lanie Isabel and Renei Soldevilla

iWhite Bloggers’ Event @ Papa John’s Pizza

To read about this event in a more personal note, visit my personal blog by clicking this.

I received an email from the iWhite Team about 2 weeks ago inviting me to attend the Bloggers’ Event at Papa John’s Pizza. Initially, I was going to decline since my classes start at 3:00 and ends at 7:00PM. Come Thursday, I realized I could juggle time and rush back to school for my 5:00PM class. Well, because of the heavy downpour, I decided to stay throughout the whole event instead. I arrived @ the venue 5 minutes early. That gave me ample time to retouch and get everything together. IMG_2688I was the first one to arrive!DSC02378-horzThis area is for the facial treatments. I would’ve given it a try if I weren’t wearing any makeup on.IMG_2628-horzAfter about 20 minutes, more bloggers started arriving. We started with the testing and guessing games.

These are the masks that an iWhite Team member used on her face (with makeup and without) They clearly show how the mask can strip off dirt and other impurities such as blackheads.DSC02382-horzHere is Achi Char (http://www.yellowyum.blogspot.com) trying to guess which of the products is iWhite’s moisturizing gel. Guessing it correctly would give you a sachet of the product itself. Achi Char, including myself, and the other bloggers were all able to get one!DSC02397-horzHere is another game. You have to flip 3 matching photos of the product to get a sachet of an iWhite product. Nobody really lost! Everybody got a sachet! DSC02399-horzHere are the sachets of iWhite products I technically “won” during the games.IMG_2621-horz

DSC02402After the games, the iWhite Team presented a Powerpoint presentation expounding on the products from their line and how they differ from any other products in the market.IMG_2650Here are the products that the iWhite Team generously gave to the bloggers who attended.IMG_2640IMG_2644IMG_2645With fellow bloggers Michelle of http://mitchwearsclothes.blogspot.com and Char of http://www.yellowyum.blogspot.comDSC02394With my dearest Achi Char!
