Hi everyone!

Here’s an easy tutorial on a makeup look that is fit for school or office. Who ever said you can’t wear a pop of color on your eyes?

Watch the video here:

Apply shimmering white eyeshadow all over your lids
Take a brown eyeshadow and darken the crease
Moisten an angled liner brush, and pick up a violet eyeshadow (you can use blue or green too!)
Line your eyes using this violet color
Take a black eyeshadow and do a second line right below the colored liner
Line the outer half of your lower lashline using the same black eye shadow
Curl lashes and apply mascara
Apply blush
Apply lip balm

Adele Inspired Look (Grammys)

Hi everyone!

This is a makeup tutorial inspired from the look that Adele wore during the Grammys. It is definitely fit for prom and very easy to recreate! I had to do a tutorial on it because it’s not a secret how gaga I am over looks with red lip colors! As usual, everything will be listed down below. Take a cream eye shadow and apply it all over your lids (“Elope” from the Sigma Bare Palette)
Take a brown eye shadow and darken the crease (“Hitch” from the Sigma Bare Palette) Blend well
Take a light-colored eye shadow and highlight the brow bone (“Approach” from the Sigma Bare Palette)
Line the eyes and create a thick cat eye
Take a black eye shadow and line your lower lash line. Stop halfway.
Curl lashes and apply mascara (top and bottom half)
Apply faux lashes (choose ones that are extra wispy towards the end)
Apply a red lip color

ELF Flat Top Powder Brush Review

Hi everyone!

Due to popular request, I did a review on the Elf Studio Flat Top Powder Brush! I finally got my hands on it when I went shopping with Judy! Sooo, without further ado, let’s get on with the review!

First off—this brush costs PHP 249.75. Now you would be asking, “Is it worth buying? Should I really really really get it?”

My thoughts on this brush the first time I used it:

It is perfect for powder application, buffs the powder very well all over the face. I love how the flat top just ‘seals in’ all the makeup on the face.
Perfect for blush as well, applies the color pretty well on the cheekbones up to the temples.
Incredible for contouring. The flat top enables easy of sculpting when it comes to the hollows of the cheeks

People have been telling me how great it also works with applying cream/liquid products. However, I personally find the brush not dense enough for such job. Comparing the Sigma F80 to this brush, the F80 is definitely denser! Nevertheless, the ELF Powder Brush is something worth buying. You all know how much I love multi-functional brushes. Now I have 3 on my list!

How to Line the Eyes in a Jiffy

Hi everyone!

So I’m 99.99% sure that most of you have wanted to sport cat eyes for a particular day but ended up not doing it because of time constraint. I am going to share with you a very simple trick on how to be able to line your eyes WITHOUT the mess and would only last you about 3-5 minutes (even faster)

As always, water will be your best, best friend in this trick!

You’re only going to need:

Marionnaud Premium N9 Slanted Eyeliner & Eyebrows Double Side Brush Brush (PHP 119.00 Watsons/SM Department Stores)
MAC Beauty Marked E/S (you can use ANY black eye shadow)
Water

Steps:

Moisten your brush
Dip it in your black eyeshadow
Start from the outer corner of your eyes and create the tail
From the tip of the tail, drag the line towards your upper lashline
From there, you can work your way through your lashline
You can make it thinner/thicker as you wish
For boo-boos, you can easily wipe it off as it is not waterproof like gel liners/liquid liners. This is all about quick fixes!

Water will easily make the black E/S look more pigmented. However, the lasting power of this trick is not guaranteed! It really depends on what E/S you used. Nevertheless, this is one of the quickest, and the most doable tricks you can use to sport those sexy cat eyes without the hassle!

Updated Brow Routine + Tip!

It’s time for some brow talk! I really must admit how much I am loving my brows more than I ever did before. Now I discovered a new way of doing them… Wanna know how I do them now? Read on!

Products I use:

a brow brush
brow powder (Maybelline Brow Definist by EyeStudio)
water

Steps:

Using water in a spray bottle, moisten your brow brush
With the moist brush, pick up the brow powder
Using light feathery strokes, redefine your brows

THAT’S IT! I find this tip extremely suitable for me. I love how polished my brows look after I use the brow powder together with a moist brush. It’s so cool how +water can make such a difference.

Start off with your usual foundation, concealing, and brow routine
Take a dark pink eyeshadow and apply this on the outer crease area *I used MAC Passionate E/S—you can use any dark pink E/S you have onhand
Using a pointed eyeshadow brush, take a dark purple color and apply this on the outer V. *I used my new Marionnaud Premium N8 Pointed E/S brush and “Twilight” from the Sleek Makeup Bad Girl Palette
Take a dark gray eyeshadow and layer this over the purple (still on the outer V) *I used “Underground” from the Sleek Makeup Bad Girl Palette
As blending color, take a cranberry shade, and blend the edges *I used MAC Cranberry E/S
Blend thoroughly
Take whatever’s left on the brush and apply it on the outer lower lashline
Take a shimmering E/S and apply this on the center lids and the inner corners of the eyes *I used Ever Bilena Mousse E/S in OPAL
Line your lower lashline using a black pencil or eyeshadow *I used MAC Beauty Marked with a wet liner brush from Marionnaud (Marionnaud N9 Premium)
Using a liner, line your upper lashline and create a cat eye end *I used my NYX Super Skinny Marker
Curl lashes and apply mascara
Apply false lashes
Contour *I used Fanny Serrano’s 2-Way Cake in Rajah
Apply blush *I used NYX Mosaic Powder in Plummy
Lastly, apply a coral pink lip color *Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Angel Rose

And you’re done!

This foundation was sent to me by Revlon For Less , an online shop in the Philippines that sells Revlon products for a much lesser price compared to the usual. First time I tried this foundation on was during my Face Routine Video. I pretty much fell in love with it from then on. I have the shade of Nude 200, and it is the closest match I have ever tried on my skin! It might tend to look a bit lighter sometimes but it is easily fixable by mixing it together with my James Cooper Cream Foundation.

This foundation comes in two types, one for the normal-dry skin type (the one I am reviewing) and another for oily-combination skin type.

What I love about this foundation:

doesn’t feel heavy on the skin
close match to my skin tone (Nude 200)
no pungent smell (for my nose—other people find it weird-smelling)
blendable especially with a stippling brush or Sigma’s Flat Top Kabuki F80 Brush
works wonders for people with dry skin/oily skin (acidic skin)

What I don’t love about this foundation:

the absence of a nozzle/pump for the bottle opening, you really have to be careful in pouring out the product
gives light-medium coverage (so if you’re looking for super full coverage, this would be a bit of a disappointment)

My 34-year-old Traincase

People have been asking where I got my red traincase from ever since I’ve exposed it in the background of my recent videos. The very first post I made about this baby was back in 2010! I looked horrible in the post, but if you wanna read it, here’s the link:

I didn’t buy it. It was handed down to me by my mother! Would you believe this traincase is 34 years old?! When I got it, it looked as good as new! It’s Samsonite, by the way. I don’t know if this model is still around at present.

I’ll be buying a bigger traincase very soon because my makeup collection has definitely grown over the years (and it still is!)

Red is such a lucky color. (You all know how I feel about red stuff!)

…these are the most common questions I encounter in my YouTube channel, Facebook Page and Twitter.

Valentines’ Day Daytime Makeup Look

Hi everyone!

Valentines’ Day is approaching, and I’ve been getting a lot of requests on date looks for that special day. I decided to do it [the tutorial] in Tagalog and use local branded makeup especially for all my fellow Pinays. Nevertheless, I added English subtitles to still make it convenient for my foreign viewers. This first look is a very easy makeup look that can be achieved by anyone! I think the only part you really have to focus on is lining the eyes—if you’re not used to lining your eyes, that is. This look is perfect for day dates! What we are basically going for with this is looking radiant, glowing, and blushing.

Step-by-step:

Do your face routine: foundation, concealing, brows, and powder
Redefine your brows
Take a dark brown eye shadow and use this to define your crease
Blend away all the harsh edges; you should be left with a subtle shadow defining your crease
Take a shimmering white eye shadow and dab this on the inner corners of the eyes blending through the center lids
Marry the shimmering white eye shadow and the brown shadow subtly
Line your eyes crisply and stop halfway, make the line thinner and thinner as you approach the center
Curl your lashes
Apply generous amounts of mascara on both the top and bottom lashes
Apply blush
Apply highlighter on the high points of the cheeks
Apply a pink lip color

Blogging for Neutrogena Philippines has always been a pleasure to me. Nothing has amazed me more than their Hydroboost line which they launched last year. This year, I’m very happy to be part of another launching of another wonderful product, this time, from the Fine Fairness line!

Czar of Ogilvy contacted me and told me all about another lunch with the bloggers about the new launch. I accepted when I learned what it was…

This is THE Helga Weber we’re talking about, you know. I first met her during the Neutrogena Dinner at Momo Café last year. I didn’t want to talk to her because I was really intimidated by her! She has the most amazing blog and I love her Instagram too! It was fun chatting with her about the NAPBAS event! She met one of my favorite bloggers Xia Xue!!! Lucky!

With the beautiful Julia! I swear she has the most perfect skin ever! But I did overhear that she tends to be allergic to scented products. We didn’t get to chat that much but I remember her from the Johnsons and Johnsons event! Hers was the question Judy Ann Santos read! I remember!!!

With the Neutrogena team! Nico (center) was seated on the same table as Donna and myself. We had so much fun chatting! We talked about Youtube, blogging, and even working out! This man is a BodyRocker too! How cool is that?

With Phoebe Ann! I didn’t get to talk to her that much but she was really nice! I first met her during the Myra E event! My first event ever!

Do your usual face routine
Prime lids (I used L’Oreal Base Magique)
Take Moonlight and apply all over the lids including the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes
Take Twilight and apply on the lids up to the crease area
Take Granite and apply on the outer V. Sweep outward for a dramatic effect. I used a pointed E/S brush for this (Marionnaud N37)
Blend harsh edges away
Take Eclipse and using an angled brush, sweep this along the lash lines (upper and lower) to create definition on the eyes
Take the black eye pencil and intensify the black by lining your lash line again
Curl your lashes and apply mascara
Add color on the cheeks by sweeping a good amount of blush
Add a matte pink lip color

And there you have it! A very easy tutorial on how to achieve a smoky eye look!

Hi everyone!

This tag video has been going around for quite some time now in the beauty community in YouTube, and last Saturday I decided to do mine! It’s called a “Get Ready With Me!” video wherein you show yourself get ready from your makeup, hair and outfit of the day! I attended a Marketing seminar and had 4 hours to get ready since I woke up really early—hence, found time to film everything. I did skip the part where I curled my hair since I didn’t want the video to drag on too long. But not to worry, I have a separate hair tutorial for that. ItsJudyTime Meet and Greet in Manila 2012

Hi everyone!

You know, I knew how awesome January 2012 would be for me because Benji & Judy got in touch with me last year and told me how they wanted me to co-host their 2012 Meet & Greet in Manila. It was honestly the best news ever. I’ve met Judy and Benji last February of 2011 and it was just beyond amazing. If you’ve watched this video and this video, you’ll know the fan girl that I was and still am!

We reserved the venue a few days before the event, and I was so glad that it worked out. I arrived at Red Mango at 6 to meet up with Benji to talk about the venue and stuff like that. Some of Judy’s relatives were already outside waiting and I got to chat with them for a short while.

More and more people came as the scheduled time drew closer and it was really great to see Judy walk in the venue! There’s no doubt that she looked stunning! She always does!

By about 7:30, Red Mango started to get jam packed with all of Judy’s fans! It was such a happy place to be! Everyone was just laughing and getting to know each other. Of course, everyone was in the ItsJudysLife vlog for that day!

Judy gave everyone NYX Cosmetics goody bags! We all had the best time answering the questions of that Q&A giveaway!

Look how many people came to see Judy! The area was literally packed with people. Tita Nini and Judy’s cousins are right there!

Almost everyone bought their men to take photos for them! Thanks to all the supportive boyfriends, husbands, and brothers!

I wasn’t able to join this photo—if everyone joined in, we definitely wouldn’t fit in the frame. Look at all the smiling faces.

This is definitely a sweet photo! It was supposed to be a family shot, but Judy called me over! How touching! They are all Judy’s cousins—I love how big their family is. Everyone was just sooooo nice.

I had the privilege to have dinner with Judy, Benji and the family after the Meet and Greet! We had dinner at Xin Wang Hong Kong Café.

I was trying to not be a fan girl—but I totally loved chatting with Judy and Benji during dinner! It was so much fun!

Turquoise and Purple Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

Hi everyone!

It’s 4:14 in the morning and I’m still up writing this blog entry for the new makeup tutorial I filmed yesterday. I really had fun playing with new color combinations and discovered cheap eye shadow shades with really great color pay-off! I regret not having taken any good photos from this look since the sun was already setting just as I was wrapping the shoot up; it really interfered with the camcorder settings. However, I was able to take photos via Instagram—my favorite iPhone app ever—and I believe it compensates for the lack of photos! Nevertheless, I worked really hard on this look! As always, all the links that you need and all the products that I used will be provided in this blog post as well as the information box in my YouTube channel. Scroll down for the blog tutorial and find the embedded video tutorial at the end of this post.

Start off by applying foundation, conceal imperfections as well. I used my James Cooper Cream Foundation 02 (this foundation already doubles up as concealer) together with my Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush
Set foundation in with a finishing veil/matte powder. I used Krave Minerale’s Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator and used it as a Finishing Veil
Do your brows. I used Etude House’s Easy Brow Pencil in Dark Brown
Take a shimmering white E/S and apply this on the inner corners of the eyes as well as the brow bone area. I used Sleek Makeup’s Innocence E/S from the Bad Girl Palette
Take a matte brown eyeshadow and run this along your crease area, create a shadow and use the windshield wiper motion; leave the inner part of the lid untouched. Blend any harsh edges away. I used the matte brown eye shadow from my ELF Makeup Clutch
Taking a purple eye shadow, apply this right on the outer corners of the eyes, build the color up, and then blend away thoroughly, making sure not to leave any harsh edge. I used Sleek Makeup’s Rebel E/S from the Bad Girl Palette
Whatever’s left on the brush, shade your lower lash line
Take a black eye shadow, and darken your crease area. I used Sleek Makeup’s Noir E/S from the Bad Girl Palette together with Marionnaud’s N37 Pointed E/S brush.
Blend, blend, blend
Take a turquoise eye shadow and dab it on the center lids, this will give the look a pop of color. I used the turquoise E/S from the ELF Makeup Clutch
Take a liner and line your lash line, tightline, and line your inner rims. I used Nichido’s Mineral Kohl Pencil in Onyx
Use a smudge-brush to smudge out the edges for a more subtler effect
Curl your lashes and apply mascara
Apply false lashes
Contour for a slimmer looking face. I used Mememe’s Shimmer Stack in Bronze
Apply blush. I used Krave Mineral’s Blush in Pink Muffin
Apply a coral-y red lip color. I used Mememe’s Long Wear Satin Lip Cream in Chara (Tuscan Red)

And there you have it! The Turquoise and Purple Smoky Eye Makeup Look.

Hi everyone!

This new video that I filmed yesterday is all about my favorite foundation+finishing powder combination. I did a James Cooper Cream Foundation Review and Demo before, and it never hurts to do a much better and improved version, right? I just had the urge to share this beautiful combination that I swear by everyday. Believe me when I say this stays on my face all day long with minimal and even no retouching sometimes!

January Shoot and BTS “Discovering Your Own Beauty: A Beauty Campaign”

Our beauty campaign, “Discovering Your Own Beauty” makeover series commenced last January 15th with our first model for the month of January, Raych Ramos.

Raych is a 20-year-old student of Miriam College. She is a hip-hop dancer and is obviously very adorable! She was really quiet at the shoot but we totally had a lot of fun laughing over the bloopers and the re-takes! Raych was such a lovely and sweet person to work with. She even helped out with the lines when my tongue got twisted with some statements!

Now I’m going to narrate how the shooting went with this series of photos taken from the day itself:

We made it on time! Scheduled time at the studio was 1-3PM. Trina, the gorgeous Managing Director of Krave Minerale Cosmeceuticals, arrived minutes ahead of Raych and myself. Raych and I actually met downstairs and went to the venue together. We were wondering why the elevator only went up till the 7th floor, and the studio was at the 8th—later realizing that we had to go another floor using the stairs! Raych and I had a good laugh out of that incident.

“Discovering Your Own Beauty”: A Beauty Campaign

Last Sunday, January 15, we started shooting the first episode of the makeover video series for the beauty campaign that Krave Minerale Cosmeceuticals and Makeup by Say Tioco Artillero put up together earlier this month. We haven’t really fully introduced what this Beauty Campaign is all about so let me give you a little idea about it…

The “Discovering Your Own Beauty”: A Beauty Campaign aims to reach out to all the women out there—all sizes, shapes, personalities, and colors. We want to be instruments in building every woman’s confidence. It is a known fact that when you look good, you feel good; and when you feel good, you look good! Through Krave Minerale’s all-natural and healthy products, we believe that we can instantly boost the confidence of a person. Not only does Krave have amazing makeup products, it also carries an incredible skin care line which result to beauty that is skin deep! On the other hand, being a freelance makeup artist and a beauty blogger, I’ve encountered a lot of ladies who’ve shared their problems with me. It breaks my heart to read stories about how miserable they feel about life (reasons of which they relate to their appearances) I want to personally change that. I’m not a huge celebrity nor am I claiming to be one, all I honestly want is to touch lives. Not for the sake of hits on my blog nor incentives in my channel—my primary goal has always been and will always be “to be a source of inspiration to other people”. Nothing melts my heart more than receiving thanks and messages on how my videos have changed their perception about beauty and makeup.

A few weeks ago, we made the big announcement of asking for model volunteers to help us out with the 12 shoots that we’ll be putting out throughout the whole year (1 video per month; maybe even more than twelve!) A lot may have been misguided since we entitled it as “Model Hunt”. Everyone has this connotation that a model must look super thin, flawless, beautiful, and tall. That is not the case. I’ve received tons of email of potential models for the shoots and most of them started with “I know I’m chubby but I wanna give this a try” “I know I’m not beautiful, but I wanna give this a try”—if only I could reply to each and every one of those ladies that sent me those kinds of messages! (As a matter of fact, I think I will!) I don’t want you putting yourself down! Anyone and everyone is welcome to submit their photo entries. We are not after models that you are usually familiar with. We are after ladies (and gentlemen) who are willing to take the chance and discover their own beauty.

Hopefully this project touch lives. Nothing would make us happier than seeing smiles on the faces of the people; people who are the reason why we are even here in the industry!

I hope this post clarified any misinterpretation that you may have in your mind. We are open for volunteers throughout the year! And always remember that if you were not selected for the current month, there are more months coming! We will try to accommodate as much models as we can.

How-to: Making My Lip Color Last All Day

Hi everyone!

I told you I’d squeeze in one more video this week! I was able to film before I headed out to a gig this morning; took me about 10 minutes or so. I just wanted to share this method that I really swear by when it comes to making the lip color last all day long. Remember my rave post regarding the L’Oreal Base Magique? Well, not only does it work on the face, it works so great on the lips, too! One of my readers actually commented in that post of mine and told me how the product can be used as a lip primer (Thank you, dear reader!). I was amazed when I tried it out. It works! Why don’t you try it out for yourself?

Products you’re going to need:

1. a matte lipstick (NYX Matte Lipstick in Perfect Red) *I haven’t tried this method using shimmer/satin lip colors—but it works so well with matte lipsticks*

2. L’Oreal Base Magique Primer

3. Lip Brush *for precise application and clean edges*

You basically apply the primer before applying the lip color and you’re set for the whole day. This method works really great on me—it’s not a secret how much I love wearing bold lip colors and I am so glad I have the Base Magique from L’Oreal.

Smokey Silver and Black Makeup Look

Hi everyone!

The video is finally up after hours of re-converting and re-editing! I filmed this yesterday and I can honestly say that I am very happy with this look. Probably the best thing about this is that I taught it in Tagalog. I never saw the need for anyone to do Tagalog tutorials UNTIL I got awesome feedback from my subscribers. It melts my heart when I receive messages in YouTube/Twitter/Facebook saying my videos have helped them [viewers] so much better when it comes to makeup application. I never really considered the thought but when Benji, Judy of ItsJudyTime’s husband, told me it would be a good idea, I gave it a try. True enough, it worked!

This makeup look is a classic and dramatic smoky eye look perfect for clubbing or even prom! Prom season is right around the corner isn’t it? Well, this look is achievable with even the most affordable products in the market.

Do your usual brow, concealing, and foundation routine
We will make use of the ‘tape trick’ to be able to achieve a crisp and precise eyeshadow line/shape
Take two pieces of Scotch tape or Magic tape and tape this from the corner of the eye to the tip of the eye brow
Take a silver shadow and apply this all over the lids; the tape will give a defined outer corner
Take a black shadow and apply this on the outer V, the tape will be your guide and will automatically create the ‘V’ shape
Using a flat brush, take the black shadow and line the outer HALF of your lower lashline
Take a blending brush and blend the outer corners for a more subtle and smoky effect
Take a white shadow and highlight the brow bone
Use the white shadow to highlight the inner corners of the eyes down to the inner HALF of your lash line
Tightline
Line your lashes, use the tape as guide to where your tail should taper out
Curl lashes and apply mascara
Put on false lashes
Apply blush
Apply an electric pink lip color

And you’re done! The tape trick is definitely one of the best methods you can use to achieve a beautiful eye look. It never fails!

Easy Smokey Brown & Nude Makeup Look

Hi everyone!

I filmed a new makeup tutorial! This look is perfect for the nighttime. Subtle and smoky, brown shades on the eyes, and a classic nude color for the lips. I used local products (Philippines) that are affordable to give fellow Pinays convenience in finding them. However, keep in mind that you can use similar products from other brands. It doesn’t really matter if you’re using low-end or high-end makeup! What matters is the way you apply it! I have to apologize for the shadows appearing in the video tutorial—I filmed at 4:30PM onwards, and the sun was already setting (we won’t have this problem as soon as I get my Tessa Rossa). Nevertheless, I hope you find this helpful! Check out the other photos from this look at the end of this post. I spent about 30 minutes for shooting them and I really had fun!

As always, do your concealing, foundation, and brow routine
Start by applying eye primer on your lids
Take a white eye shadow and apply it all over the lids to set the base
Take a soft brown/taupe color and apply this on the crease area using a windshield wiper motion. Go back and forth until you get a subtle shadow on your lids
Take a darker shade of brown; this time, concentrate blending it on the outer V. Blend the color through the crease and marry it with the soft brown
Take your time in blending. It is always the key in achieving a beautiful smoky eye look
Tightline using a black eye pencil
Line your lashline using a black liquid liner and wing it out to add drama to the look
Curl your lashes and apply mascara
Add in false lashes to complete the sultry eye look
Go ahead and contour your cheeks for a slimmer looking face
Add color on your cheeks to get a gorgeous flush
Highlight the high points of your cheeks and the bridge of your nose
Lastly, apply a nude skin-tone lip color to complete the whole look

Face Routine (NEW VIDEO!)

Hi everyone!

I filmed a new video today right after I got out of the shower despite the gloomy weather! It’s all about my current face routine sans the liner, faux lashes, and eye shadow. I just want to basically give you an idea on how I do my usual makeup when I feel lazy or want to keep my makeup at minimal. I incorporated new products in my routine which I really am loving very much! Discover what they are by watching the video or continue reading this post!

I start by spritzing my face with Krave Minerale’s Fruttie Poreless Toner Spray. Click here to see the amazing benefits and how this product works on the skin!

Using my Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush from Sigma Beauty, I apply one layer of my Revlon ColorStay Foundation in Nude 200.

Since I want medium coverage, I use my James Cooper Cream Foundation in CF02 and buff the product (using the same Sigma F80) on my face over the Revlon ColorStay Foundation. This cream foundation together with the Revlon ColorStay in Nude 200 actually creates my perfect skin tone!

To hide dark circles, I use my current favorite correct concealer from Krave Minerale which instantly brightens up my under-eye area! I love how this concealer cancels out all the redness going on in my face! I honestly think that this is the best concealer I’ve ever used.

Time to set everything with Krave Minerale’s Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator! I’ve mentioned this in my No Makeup Look video and this is the best product for making our makeup last all day long! I always use this as a finishing veil because the finish that this product gives is just gorgeous on the skin. You have to witness how mattified and how smooth your face feels after applying this miracle product.

I love defining my features by contouring. My favorite product to use for this part is Makeup Hub by Naturele Collezione’s Mememe Shimmer Stack in Bronze! The combination of all the colors from this product gives off a very beautiful shade!

My current favorite blush shade is Makeup Hub by Naturele Collezione’s Mememe Blush Me! in Coral. I never thought I’d have the guts to wear coral blush. Comes out really beautifully on the apples of the cheeks! This shade looks beautiful on morena skin!

As usual, I do my brows using my Etude House Easy Brow Pencil in Dark Brown.

I tightline whenever I skip eyeliner since tightlining gives a certain definition to the eyes. I used my Nichido Mineral Kohl Pencil in Onyx for this part.

I curl my lashes and apply generous amounts of mascara. Again, this is the most important part especially if you’re skipping liner and faux lashes.

The first lipstick I ever finished (I’m getting there soon) is NYX’s Round Lipstick in Tea Rose! I love this color! It’s just the perfect color for everyday.

And that’s it! I do this everyday for school and just switch up the products such as eye shadows, blush shades, and lip colors; but basically this is how I do my face.

No Makeup Makeup Tutorial

Hi everyone!

Here it is! One of the most-requested makeup looks (to be taught in the vernacular in the video) from my Facebook Page. The “No Makeup” Makeup Look. Now, before anything else, I just want to expound on this famous “No Makeup” look that is often seen on supermodels and the likes. I did my research before filming my version; and indeed, there are a lot of interpretations and ways of doing this look. It may look very simple to do, but in reality, it takes a lot of products to achieve this flawless, dewy finish. Just because it was called “No Makeup” look doesn’t mean we’re not going to use anything on our faces! It actually means using the right products and tools to achieve the most natural looking finish without looking like we have too much makeup on the face. Be reminded that I used as much local products as I could and gave all the alternative products that you can use, too! Enjoy the tutorial, and check out the Filipino Tutorial at the end of this post.

Tone and moisturize your face before applying any makeup product
You may opt to use tinted moisturizer, a layer of liquid foundation, or a combination of both as your makeup base (mix moisturizer and liquid foundation for a sheer finish) I used my Sigma F80 Brush to apply my layer of foundation
Conceal dark circles and any imperfection, blend thoroughly with your ring finger
Set everything with a sheer setting powder, I used Krave’s Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator to get that mattified look that will last the whole day!
Apply warm pink cream blush on your cheeks for a natural looking flush on the face
Highlight high points of the cheeks using a highlighter, preferably a cream/liquid based one to achieve a dewy effect
Do your brows as naturally as possible, don’t leave harsh edges
Apply a wash of brown (slightly darker than your skin color) on your entire lids and lower lashline area, we want a natural looking shadow on our eyes
Tightline! We won’t be lining our lashline, but this trick is a surefire way to define our eyes
Curl lashes and apply generous amounts of mascara—this is the most important step in this look
Lastly, apply tinted lip balm, lip tint, or a mixture of your favorite lip color over your lip balm to achieve that natural lip color

And there you have it! The No Makeup Makeup Look!

The BIG Announcement

This has to be the most exciting project for me this 2012 and I’m very happy to be announcing it to everyone!

Krave Minerale’s owner, Miss Trina, and I have cooked up a beautiful project wherein the participation of all the ladies out there is needed. Here’s what's going to happen, every month, we will be presenting a Makeover Video sponsored by Krave Minerale Cosmeceuticals, the country’s most amazing mineral makeup line; presented by yours truly as the makeup artist, and the chosen model of the month in my YouTube Channel.

We will be having our first shoot this January 15th, a Sunday, at a designated studio. From this day onwards, we will be needing volunteers for the models who will need to submit the following via email:

Revlon for Less Holiday Goodies

The owners of Revlon for Less, Haydee & Paolo, surprisingly showed up during my Christmas Meet and Greet with readers last December 19th and gave me new products to try out.

I’ve been wanting to give the Revlon ColorStay a try for quite a while now and I finally get the chance to try it out. They gave me the Revlon ColorStay for Normal/Dry Skin in the shade 200 Nude which I believe is the closest shade to my skin tone. I first tried out this product when I filmed my Sultry Glowing Makeup Look and I was just amazed by the quality of it. I’ve heard raves about this foundation, and they were right. I even tweeted that 200 Nude is the perfect shade for me! Well, it almost is! I had a Twitter conversation with the famous blogger Helga Weber, and she told me she’s using Buff. She told me she loves the foundation despite the smell. The Revlon ColorStay Foundation does have a scent to it, but I’m not very much bothered about it; however, we all know that it varies from person to person. I love applying this foundation with my Sigma F80 brush. It just makes buffing very easy!

Second product they gave me is the famous Revlon Just Bitten! This is basically a lip stain. I just adore the color—the bolder the better, for me, it always is! I haven’t really tried out this product yet but I’ll definitely be showing a swatch in my next post/review on this.

Sunflower Gray from the Flower Series: Circle lens from Dull to Doll

My good friend and owner of AigooShoppe now Dull to Doll, Valerie, sent me a new pair of contact lenses to try out. These are the Sunflower Gray from the Flower Series. It is 14mm in diameter; perfect for ladies who want a little bit of enlargement of the irises but not overly large compared to the 15mm diameter lenses. I love how the Sunflower Gray lenses give the eyes a doll-like effect. The flower design is extremely gorgeous to look at, not to mention. In terms of comfort, these lenses get a 4/5 from me. I have this habit of putting on lenses on tired eyes which explains my tweets before on how my eyes have become super sensitive to lighting. Using these lenses on well-rested eyes works so much better. It just so happens that I have to push through with work (i.e. filming and blogging) no matter how tired I am sometimes. Overall, the Sunflower Gray lenses from the Flower Series is one of my most favorite contact lenses.

Make Up For Ever Professional Goodies

Attending the Make Up For Ever Event last December 15th was definitely a great experience because not only was I able to meet Marie Digby in person, but MUFE also gave the bloggers goody bags.

MUFE is definitely one of the most high-end makeup brands in the country and I really am happy to be able to get to try out some of their products. I have honestly never tried any MUFE products before, and when I did—I was blown away.

First product in the bag: MUFE HD (High Definition Blush) A teeny tiny dot surprisingly covers both cheeks! The color pay-off is absolutely to die for. It’s in cream form, but not overly creamy; very easy to blend through! I use my Sigma F80 Brush to apply this on my cheeks with. This product will definitely give you that beautiful rosy looking cheeks.

Second product in the bag: MUFE Aqua Liner (Waterproof) I absolutely fell in love with this liner the first time I tried it. It’s not jet black in color but more of a grayish glittery one. I love how smoothly I can line my eyes with this! It gives the most precise eye line wing ever. I never really used liquid liners before until I met the MUFE Aqua Liner. After a few weeks of mourning over the loss of 5 inches of my hair, I finally came around and started doing hair tutorials again. This is a really simple hairstyle that you can wear during any occasion. You can actually pair it with the NYE Makeup Look that I posted a day ago! You will definitely look smashing as the new year happens! And you know what they say, “How you start off the year is how the rest of your year is going to be.” (mighty superstitious)

What you’re going to need:

Hair dryer (VS Compact Hair Dryer) *if you’re starting off with damp hair

2012 New Year’s Eve Makeup Look

Hi everyone!

2012 is right around the corner. Aren’t you excited? Whether you’re staying home for media noche or going out to watch the ball drop (in NYC), you can always rock a beautiful makeup look! What better way to welcome the new year but with a happy, gorgeous, glowing face, right? I filmed this tutorial today, December 29, 2011. I honestly did not have any idea what look to do when I sat in front of my HP V5560U; but I did know that I wanted to do a NYE look for all the ladies out there. I incorporated various techniques that I learned and of course my absolute favorite cat-eye line design. It sexifies any eye look, believe me. As always, do your concealing, foundation, and brow routine
Start off by highlighting your brow bone and the inner corners of your eyes with any shimmering white eye shadow
Take a silver eye shadow and apply this on the center of the lids
Take 2 strips of tape and apply it on the side of each eye. Wing it out, use the tip of the brow as end point
Take a blue eye shadow and apply this only on the outermost corners of the eyes, pack the color on
Take a purple eye shadow and apply it on the outer V; the tape will create the shape for you, blend subtly towards the center lids but keep the area with the silver shadow untouched
Take a black eye pencil and tightline your eyes. Line your waterline as well, and go further to the inner corners of the eyes.
Take a liquid eye liner and line your eyes, wing it out subtly as we want the colors to stand out
While lining, go further from the inner corners of your eyes, this will create a sexy cat-eye effect that will accentuate your eye shape even more
Take the purple eye shadow and line your lower lashline
Using a silver eye shadow, line the inner part of your lower lashline
Curl your lashes and apply generous amounts of mascara
Cut a full false lash in half, and apply each on each eye, with the fuller side on the outermost part of the lash line. This will make your eyes look even more dramatic and sexy; using demi lashes gives an illusion of longer lashes
Contour your face
Apply blush
Apply nude/soft coral lip color

And there you have it. The perfect NYE look.

Hi everyone!

Here’s a new makeup tutorial inspired by Kim Kardashian’s look in their family’s 2011 Christmas card. I loved this look when I saw it on Dulce Candy and I was really excited to do my own version of it (by ‘own version’ I mean based on the products that I’ll be using) I filmed this look today, December 28, 2011, and I love how I am able to post it on the same day! Do your foundation, concealing, and brow routine
Take a yellow gold eye shadow and apply it on the inner thirds of the eye lids
Take a white/cream eye shadow and highlight the brow bone
Take a soft brown eye shadow and apply it on the outer V and crease area
Line your eyes and create a dramatic wing meeting the tip of the end of your brow
Use a black pencil liner and line your lashline
Get hold of a small brush and smudge out the black on the lashline
Towards the end of the lower lashline, create another wing and fade the color out
Line your lower waterline with white/cream eye pencil
Using a brush, fill in the are between the two wings with the white eye liner color
Curl lashes and apply generous amounts of mascara
Apply false lashes
Contour your face
Top off with a deep red lipstick

Hair: Pull your hair back into a sleek high pony, use hair gel to keep baby hairs down

It’s not a secret how much I love wearing red lip colors! Over the past year, I’ve collected 14 different shades of red lipsticks and I just thought it would be great to share them through my beauty channel in YouTube! Sultry Glowing Makeup Look

Hi everyone! I wanted to try out a new filming area in our house and this was the look that I created. I honestly had a difficult time keeping myself from squinting since I was facing the windows directly. I guess that’s the reason why my eyes have become so sensitive to bright lights the past few days. I finished filming in 3 hours. I actually edited the whole thing yesterday night, the same day I filmed the tutorial. (Yes, I worked on Christmas Day!) For some reason, YouTube acted up and I wasn’t able to post it right away. I was having second thoughts about the video because in some parts, I had “almost crying” eyes because of the light. Because of this hesitation, I posted a preview photo an hour ago and asked everyone’s opinion about it. Due to positive feedback, I uploaded the video (which I’m glad I didn’t delete!) I’m elated that some thought it’s different from the usual makeup looks that I do—that made me feel really glad. Thanks to everyone who helped me!

It was really great to hear about each of the products from the Managing Director herself. It showed how much proud she was of Krave. I love how the products were specifically formulated by chemists to be answers to women’s various beauty/skin problems. If you’ve been an avid reader of my blog, you would know that I don’t really blog about products that don’t really work for me. I honestly wanted to blog about these the moment I received them! However, due to numerous Christmas get-together with friends, I postponed it for a few days.

FX Blow Out and Curl Booster

Ever since Monea phased out their CPR Heat Protectant spray (I’m assuming they did since my readers and myself don’t see it in Watsons or anywhere else anymore) I’ve been hunting for a great alternative…and guess what?

I FOUND IT!

I was at the Mall of Asia last Monday and I paid Watsons a visit as usual. I came across this booth of FX products. I’ve never seen them before, and the saleslady told me this is because they only sell in major branches (like MOA) I went through their products and was really happy to finally see products that I’ve been looking for forever!

Starting off with the FX Blow Out—Moisture Lock Blow Dry Cream | Heat Memory | Thermal Protection & Defrizzant

“FX Blow Out Blow Dry Cream works to instantly smooth and condition dry, damaged hair by sealing and protecting it from harmful heat so your style lasts all day. It provides thermal protective shield from the damaging heat of blow dryers, curling irons, and other styling tools. Liquid silk proteins, smoothing shea butter and nourishing coconut milk proteins provide maximum protection, while locking in moisture and conditioning hair, leaving it shiny, silky and frizz free!”

TO USE: Work FX Blow Out Blow Dry Cream evenly into hair working from roots to ends. Blow dry or style with other hair appliances to create the desired look without the worry of harmful heat. Avoid contact with eyes.

PRICE: PHP 299.00

It’s in cream form compared to the CPR Monea which is in spray form, but it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try! I think it works amazingly well. The bottle comines in a squirt nozzle, much similar to lotion bottles.

Next up is the FX Curl Booster—Scrunching and Finishing Spray | Instantly tightens limp and lifeless locks and creates lavish curls!

Last December 18, 2011 I got the chance to work on a beautiful bride-to-be, Elaine E. at Blue Gardens for their pre-nuptial shoot. This post is basically going to be filled with captioned photos rather than a full-length detailed one (which is reserved for my personal blog; coming right after!)

All About Kilay: A Tagalog Brow Tutorial

If you’ve been watching my Youtube videos since the time I started back in 2010, you’d know very well how horrible my brows looked like. Thank goodness for talented gurus like Nic Chapman, I was able to learn my own style in doing the brows.

Lots of Filipinas have been asking me to do a brow tutorial, and so I did!

Products/tools I use:

Etude House Easy Brow Pencil in Dark Brown
Megaga Brow Brush
Marionnaud Concealing Brush
LuLu Makeup Concealer

I basically start on the inner parts of the brows, tracing the shape carefully and filling them in. I leave the most inner portion blank and continue filling in the middle part. Determine how arched you want your brows to be. From the highest point, trace down to the tail of the brow. Keep the edges clean by sweeping concealer with a concealing brush along the edges. Using the brow brush and a flicking up motion, work on the innermost part of the brows. This will make it more subtle and natural looking.

I received a lot of requests on how to shape the brows. I feel you, ladies. I’ve had the same problem before. #1 trick would be LET YOUR BROWS GROW OUT! This will take about 2 weeks or so. You need to leave them alone for awhile especially if you’ve been plucking them too thin. After growing them out, that’s the point wherein we can really shape the brows. It’s like going back to square one. I’ll be doing a video on this soon, don’t worry! Although I might have to use a model for it.
