Anthony and Elaine: Pre-Nuptial Shoot at Blue Gardens

Last December 18, 2011 I got the chance to work on a beautiful bride-to-be, Elaine E. at Blue Gardens for their pre-nuptial shoot. This post is basically going to be filled with captioned photos rather than a full-length detailed one (which is reserved for my personal blog; coming right after!)

It was such a delight working with Benjie Tiongco (photographer), Benjie’s assistant, and most importantly, Anthony and Elaine.

Halloween Hair & Makeup Gig: KC Tan & Arvin Tan

Last October 29, 2011 I made up siblings KC Tan & Arvin Tan for their Halloween party. KC, whom I fondly call “Achi KC” was a Princess Leia/Jedi character. She was already in her outfit when I arrived and we started with the makeover.

Starting off with the makeup:

1. I primed her face using the Base Magique Primer from L’Oreal—I made sure I didn’t skip this part because I knew they will be partying all night long and I didn’t want her makeup to fade away in a few hours.
2. I concealed necessary areas using The LuLu Makeup concealer.
3. Moving on to foundation, I used the Revlon PhotoReady Makeup in 006 Medium Beige which was perfect for her skin color. I knew they would be taking a lot of photos, and the photochromatic pigments in the foundation would be a great help.
4. I set her makeup with the cake powder from Maybelline for an even finish.
5. I contoured her cheekbones using Fanny Serrano’s Two-Way Cake in Rajah.
6. For her blush, I used The Body Shop’s Roseflower blush.
7. I did her brows using the Easy Brow Pencil from Etude House. Her brows barely needed any shaping because they were actually the most perfect brows I have ever worked on!
8. Moving on to the eyes, I gave her a sultry, smoky look. I used a light brown on the inner thirds of the lids and MAC’s Beauty Marked on the outer V.
9. I highlighted the inner corners of her eyes with a shimmering gold eyeshadow to make her look more awake.
10. I proceeded with lining her eyes using Fanny Serrano’s gel liner.
11. She didn’t need any faux lashes because she had adorable lash extensions on.
12. I contoured her nose bridge just a bit for a polished look
13. I highlighted the high points of her face using Etude House’s Secret Beam Highlighter.
14. Lastly, I used Maybelline’s Angel Rose lip color on her lips and topped it off with a clear gloss from ELF.

Prior to clipping on her Princess Leia ears (?) I colored her hair using this adorable colored hairspray from Orly (Achi KC bought it especially for that night’s event). I totally loved the outcome. It looked very beautiful! After coloring, we put on the Princess Leia ears (?) and we were done.

Next is [Ahia] Arvin Tan, Achi KC’s brother who dressed up as an Xmen/Star Wars Inspired character . I actually used his makeup! We worked using the gorgeous concealer from Kryolan (which blew me away, really) The coverage was perfect! Although, his face didn’t need much concealing, anyway. After that, I finished off with the loose powder which is also from Kryolan. I cotoured his face a bit for a polished finish.

Hair & Makeup Gig: Usana Event

October 21, 2011—I woke up at 4:00AM for a hair and makeup gig @ Makati. These lovely ladies attended a company event and basically wore white dresses with accents of gold and silver. I gave them polished looks with necessary highlighting & contouring and worked on the eyes using neutrals with a little hint of color. For the hair, I gave Anj a classic side bun with wrapped curls, and wavy curls for the rest of the ladies.

Hair & Makeup: Voice of McDonald’s (Cheenee & Margaret) @ Makati Shangri-la Hotel

Charlene of http://www.yellowyum.blogspot.com hired me as her assistant hair stylist for a makeup gig for McDonald’s PH singing sensations Cheenee Capuyan and Margaret Yu. The venue was held at Makati Shangri-la Hotel. Despite the heavy traffic, Achi Char & I were able to arrive, even 30 minutes later than the call time.We were led to a beautiful hotel room and we started setting up. Achi Char worked on Margaret’s makeup while I did Cheenee’s hair. Cheenee did not want her hair to be curled, so I gave her a pouf on the center and made a “bouquet” at the back.With Margaret, she wanted big, curly waves, almost diva-like. And it looked really perfect on her.Here is Margaret getting ready for her interview with the Rated K team.This is Cheenee Capuyan—and her voice is heavenly. No wonder she won 1.2 million pesos from the competition! Same goes with Margaret!It’s always a pleasure to work with Achi Char!I had to leave for school after the gig, but we were able to squeeze in a couple of group shots before I left. Thank goodness for the camera timer!The girls sang for me before I left!!! They are amazing. Truly amazing! Read this article about the voice of McDonald’s!
