James Cooper Compact Cream Foundation

DSC02827

Review on the James Cooper Compact Cream Foundation

It is difficult to find a foundation that would suit you (skin type and tone) 100%. That is why I consider the search for a good foundation an endless cycle. I’ve stuck to my Maybelline Aqua Gel Foundation for years until I discovered CoverGirl Aqua Smooth Makeup Foundation. My flame with CoverGirl didn’t last that long, though, because of multiple factors.

Then I discovered James Cooper—bought and tried the compact cream foundation, and I was blown away. I think it is proper for me to share the goodness of this foundation.

I have dry skin, and cream based-gel based foundations suits be best.

Let us go through the pros of this product:

  • Compact and lightweight—you don’t have to worry about carrying it in your purse
  • Sturdy packaging—packaging reminds me that of MAC’s
  • Available in many shades—I am CF-04
  • Will last you a long time because…(read on)
  • A little goes a long way—you will only need a little amount to cover a large area
  • Blendable—you can blend it easily using a brush
  • Suits dry skin type—because it is cream based, the consistency of the product will not dry up the skin
  • Medium to full coverage—amazing coverage even without setting powder/concealing
  • Doubles up as a concealer—you don’t have to apply concealer prior to application (which I demonstrated in the video embedded below)
  • No pungent smell—a very important factor for me
  • Affordable at PHP 550.00—it will last you a long time, so the price is worth it
  • Expiration date indicated in the box—3 years after manufacturing date

Cons:

  • You will need a mixing plate and a spatula to avoid double dipping

Good to know:

  • James Cooper is made in France

Where to buy:

  • Watsons, SM City Manila

Price:

  • PHP 550.00

How to Apply Gel Eyeliner

How to Line your Eyes Using a Gel Eyeliner

What you’re going to need:

  1. Angled Brush (Marionnaud N32 Eye Brush)—I like using this brush because the bristles are thin enough to be able to give precise and crisp lines. (PHP 69.75, Watsons)
  2. Gel Eyeliner (Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner)—I’ve been using this liner for a couple of months/years now! I love it because it does not smudge on me, it does not “melt” when I sweat, and the color payoff is solid. (PHP 449.00, Maybelline Counters)

How you’re going to do it:

  1. Load up your brush with the gel liner
  2. Start lining your eyes using the middle lashline as starting point
  3. Work your way outward, using small strokes of lines
  4. Upon reaching the tail end, slowly flick your brush in an upward motion
  5. Create that crisp end by keeping your hands steady (use your pinky as support—pinky leaning on to the cheek)
  6. Connect the lines by moving from the tail end to the lashline
  7. Continue lining as close to the lashline to hide the flesh
  8. NOTE: If you’re going to put on lashes, you have to line your waterline. It may take some practice for some people to do this, since the upper waterline can be sensitive.
  9. Do the same on the other eye

Remember:

It took me a couple of months to be able to line my eyes without tugging on them. Tugging will cause wrinkles and unwanted fine lines in the future. So I say, keep on practicing… You’re getting near.HPIM2601HPIM2603

Third Batch of Lashes FOR SALE 08/02/11

Third Batch for the Faux Lashes is officially open for orders/reservation. I am writing this blog entry to make clarifications and changes in the rules with regards to reserving. I have to implement such rules because I have experienced overdue payments in the last two batches.

Please read the following thoroughly before asking any questions:

  • No meet-ups will be scheduled in the next weeks due to my tight schedule in school, all the orders will be shipped, instead.
  • All the ordering should be done through text ONLY (09156218309); no orders in this blog entry, my fan page, my lash album, nor my email will be entertained. The fastest way to reach me is through text, and it makes everything so much easier.
  • Batch 1 and Batch 2 are already closed, and comments in the album will no longer be entertained.
  • The names of the lashes in this [3rd] Batch have been changed to avoid confusion. Please avoid asking me which among these is Lejannie, or Roseanne or the other names of the lashes from the previous batch.
  • The price: 1 set containing 8 pairs of false eyelashes for only PHP 100.00
  • Reservations are allowed, but the customer will only have (3) days to settle the payment or else his/her order will become void. I think this is the most important of all the reminders. I just feel that it is unfair for the others who are willing to pay for the lashes right away to be declined and be told that “We have already sold out.” When in fact, all the reserved lashes have yet to be shipped due to problems with settlement of payments [some taking over 2 weeks]. I want to be fair to everyone. Please consider this issue before making any reservations.
  • Bank account details are || Account # 4230056705 || Account Name: Lindsay Tioco Artillero || Quiapo-Quinta Market Branch BDO ||
  • HOW TO ORDER: (FULL NAME) (ORDER i.e. 1 Felicity, 1 Penelope) (COMPLETE ADDRESS) Send to 09156218309.
  • Upon receiving your details, I will be sending you the total amount that you’ll be paying. Please don’t ask me how much the shipping fee is unless you have sent me your address. Rates are calculated through Air21’s Rate Calculator.
  • I have provided photos for everyone’s convenience.

Please be reminded by the guidelines above.
