░ Makeup Haul: COSMETOLOGIE 2011 ░

If you have seen my Cosmetologie 2011 vlog, you're probably wondering what products I brought home with me from that event. I may have uploaded the vlog version of this post a few days later than expected because YouTube gave me a difficult time. But now that it is [finally] uploaded, let me formally show you the things I bought starting off with...

Doughnut Bun, PHP 100.00
I have been looking all over Manila for this thing! It almost got away with somebody else while I was looking at the variety of falsies displayed but thank goodness he changed his mind and put it back. I quickly grabbed it and paid for it when I realized that it was what I've been looking for! I'll be doing a tutorial on how to use this; in case you're wondering how it works.
Kabuki Brush, PHP 180.00
This was also the last piece remaining on stock. I thought about buying it or not for like 5 times. In the end I finally convinced myself to buy it. It is nothing like those scratchy ones out there. This kabuki brush is amazingly soft. Just like that of Nichido's...only cuter because of the color. They also had the red one, but I chose pink since it looked "cleaner" than the red one.
Bobby Pins, PHP 6.00 per pack
When doing hair tutorials and styling the hair of my clients, I need tons of bobby pins. For the price of this I should've bought more. They are of good quality.
Wet N' Wild Silk Finish Lipsticks, PHP 99.00 each
I bought the shades 541B CASHMERE, 525D RETRO PINK, 529B COPPER DUST (photo: top to bottom) I've tried using Retro Pink & Copper Dust. I'll do a video on these lippies. They stay on incredibly well! I personally recommend them. Cashmere is a lovely shade, I must say.
Ever Bilena Matte Lipsticks, PHP 80.00 each (ON SALE)
Yes, I bought them for 80.00 each instead of 99.00 because it was on sale (just like everything else in Cosmetologie 2011) I bought the shades DUSK (LEFT SWATCH) and MIRRORED MOCHA (RIGHT SWATCH). What else can I say? Have I not raved about these matte lippies enough? Oh and by the way, I don't think they're going to phase this out. We've been given wrong information by different salesladies. I've been to the mall yesterday and EB just re-stocked. No need to worry anymore!
Fanny Serrano Two-Way Cake, PHP 299.00 (ON SALE)
Regular price is at 399.00. Again they had it on sale! I've been meaning to get this for myself for the longest time! Expect a review on this as well. Perfect shade for me is "ORLEANS".

Dollface Cosmetics Concealer, PHP 475.00
The very first thing I bought at the event. I had this reserved (a huge thanks to Pearl Sarcauga). I am in the shade of #3. And I will save my blabbing about this product in another entry. All I can say is...this is the biggest and the BEST concealer I have ever used! Enough said!

Hope you enjoyed my little haul!

░ Product Overview: Ever Bilena Advance Smooth Lips "Timeless Ruby" ░

I paid the newly renovated branch of Watson's at SM City Manila a visit today and I feasted on the sight of newly re-stocked products from Ever Bilena. Every time I go there, I keep checking if they have the Ever Bilena Advance Smooth Lips. It was one of the products that Judy of ItsJudyTime brought home with her from the Philippines. My good friend, Janah of MaricarlJanah, has also been trying to find this product in Cebu but to no avail. I promised I'd buy her one, and so I did. I got the shade Timeless Ruby. I also bought one for myself since I'd like to see how it works!
Here's the packaging of the Ever Bilena Advance Smooth Lips:
Looks like a marker to me!

Has a sponge-tip applicator.
They had the decency to cover the tip with a protective plastic--which I LOVE!

Twisting the body will make the product ooze out.
After using.
You will have to "keep on twisting until the color comes out"--that's what it says on the product itself. I twisted for 10 times before the product finally came out. I was a bit worried since I thought the product was all dried out! But no!
Here's the application process (not that I think it's difficult to apply--of course not!):
Bare lips. No lipbalm. whatsoever.

Not really a precise application, but I guess from here you'd see how it looks like!
Timeless Ruby is....timeless. You can never go wrong with red. I have yet to test the lasting power of this product! It is also available in different shades! Go to the nearest Watsons now! (Oh boy, talk about persuasive advertisement.)
PRICE: PHP 72.00
CONTENT: 2.3ml

░ A Day in The Life of Say: Dinner @ SpamJam, Mall of Asia ░

If you see that white line on my lips, that's probably my gloss mixed with my Mauvey lip color and some lemonade.
After shopping at the Cosmetologie 2011 event, Kathy, Jayne and I headed to the Mall of Asia to find eats before finally heading home. Kathy was telling us about the Spam Musubi earlier and since Jayne and I haven't tried it yet, we decided to eat at the SpamJam kiosk. It took us about 25 minutes to walk from the other side of the building to the kiosk!
When we got there, we mindlessly ordered  two musubis each! One spam musubi priced at 38.00 PHP. I didn't think it would be so big and so filling which is the reason why I was not able to finish my second spam musubi and brought it home instead for my mom to try.
The spam musubis are basically like sushi, with the seaweed wrapping the sticky rice and a thick slice of spam. If you're from Hawaii, you would be 100% familiar with this. I find the spam musubi very tasty and definitely filling. It's because of the sticky rice that I felt so full after just a few bites. We had lemonade to go with the spam musubis.
If you pass by the Mall of Asia, you should definitely check the SpamJam kiosk out. It wouldn't hurt your pocket! You have three choices on the menu: eat it as a sandwich, as a sushi, or as a rice meal with a sunny side up.
I hope you had fun watching another Day in The Life of Say vlog!

No wonder I felt so full after the first one.

With my good college friend, Kathy.
This one's for my mom.

This is probably the best investment I have done in my career as a freelance makeup artist. For almost over a year now (FEB '10-'11), I have been using my Sony Cybershot W130 to shoot videos and take photos. I never really had any problems with it except for the fact that it does not take high definition videos. Since I have been blessed with such awesome viewers and subscribers, I think it's just imperative on my part to produce high-quality output. Which is why I am very excited to say that I am now a proud owner of the HP Full HD Digital Camcorder: HP V5560u. I bought this camcorder last February 20, 2011 at CameraHaus, SM City Manila branch. I was planning on getting it on March but then again I wanted to cover the Cosmetologie event which happened February 22-23. I had it reserved and they still had to go to Taguig to pick up (1) model from their warehouse (since it wasn't available in the store) and have it ready the day after I made the reservation. Maffle took care of everything. She updated me about the delivery and stuff. By 1:30 of Sunday I was already there ready to pick up the camcorder. I upgraded my free 2GB SDHC card to a 4GB card and just had to pay PHP200.00 instead of PHP 695.00 (for the 4GB SDHC card alone) Maffle introduced me to basic functions and I must say I was very impressed--especially on the quality of the videos AND the photos.

The specs of this model is amazing:
  • Up to 12MP Still Image Capture
  • 20x Zoom Max
  • 3" 16:9 Touch Screen LCD Panel
  • Motion Detection
  • Full HD 1080p
  • 5x Optical Zoom
  • 4x Digital Zoom
  • Video Resolutions (FULL HD, HD, WVGA, QVGA)
  • Video Format .MOV
  • Internal Memory 32MB
  • Storage media: SD/SDHC
Package Contents:
  • HP V5560u Digital Camcorder
  • Quick Start Guide
  • User Manual Installation Software
  • Warranty Card
  • DOC Letter
  • HDMI Cable
  • AV Cable USB Cable
  • Lens Cap
  • Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery
  • Battery Charger
  • Carry Pouch
  • Cleaning Cloth

Price: PHP 9,995.00 (from PHP 10,995.00) % off's definitely rule my world.
Location bought: CameraHause SM City Manila Branch

I have tried using this camcorder to film and I must say that it is true how the pores show up vividly when you're on HD! Anyway, I'll be doing some kind of an open box vlog on this camcorder for you guys tomorrow.

░ Beauty Tutorial: My Ultimate Favorite Makeup Look ░

If you would be given the chance to pick just one makeup look to wear for the rest of your life, what would you pick?
I decided to film a tutorial on this look today just to show you what look I would usually go for when I don't have an idea in mind. I will forever be in love with red lips! I think it's an instant classic touch to any woman's appearance. The subtle wings for the eyes create such a sophisticated and sexy feel. I dabbed on shimmery white E/S on the lids to bring more light to the eyes, making them look brighter and more expressive. A little bronzer and a little blush, and I'm good to go. I would wear this look to school, to parties, to work (makeup gigs), and even when running errands! You'll never go wrong with this look.
However, if you are going to eat out, you better check on your lips once in a while. There are a lot of "food-proof" lipsticks out there like that of Revlon's! So you can try that out to avoid the constant worrying on whether your lipstick is still on straight or not.
I used my favorite Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire and Ice for my lips. The color is just super lovely. I highly recommend it, and if you can, get the limited edition one!

░ Beauty Tutorial: Valentine's Day Look ░

Here is my idea on what makeup look to wear during a romantic date with someone special this Valentine's Day. I wanted to keep things soft and neutral with a dash of shimmer in all the right places. Just for the information of everyone, two hours prior to filming this video, I curled my hair using my JML ProCeramicStraightener and secured each curl (sectioned to a total of 8 parts) with a hair elastic. I also used Finesse Hair Spray Maximum Hold to maintain the definition of the curls. At the end of the tutorial, you will see how bouncy the curls will look like.
