How to Apply Gel Eyeliner

HPIM2604

How to Line your Eyes Using a Gel Eyeliner

What you’re going to need:

  1. Angled Brush (Marionnaud N32 Eye Brush)—I like using this brush because the bristles are thin enough to be able to give precise and crisp lines. (PHP 69.75, Watsons)
  2. Gel Eyeliner (Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner)—I’ve been using this liner for a couple of months/years now! I love it because it does not smudge on me, it does not “melt” when I sweat, and the color payoff is solid. (PHP 449.00, Maybelline Counters)

How you’re going to do it:

  1. Load up your brush with the gel liner
  2. Start lining your eyes using the middle lashline as starting point
  3. Work your way outward, using small strokes of lines
  4. Upon reaching the tail end, slowly flick your brush in an upward motion
  5. Create that crisp end by keeping your hands steady (use your pinky as support—pinky leaning on to the cheek)
  6. Connect the lines by moving from the tail end to the lashline
  7. Continue lining as close to the lashline to hide the flesh
  8. NOTE: If you’re going to put on lashes, you have to line your waterline. It may take some practice for some people to do this, since the upper waterline can be sensitive.
  9. Do the same on the other eye

Remember:

It took me a couple of months to be able to line my eyes without tugging on them. Tugging will cause wrinkles and unwanted fine lines in the future. So I say, keep on practicing… You’re getting near.HPIM2601HPIM2603

Watch the tutorial here, it's only 2 minutes and 26 seconds long!
