First Impression: Tony Moly Baby Doll BB Foundation

It has been a long time since I last purchased a new foundation! Thanks to my sponsors, I barely need to spend anymore. Nevertheless, when I visited Tony Moly a few days ago, the saleslady really “salestalked” me into getting this particular foundation. Being an impulsive shopper [most of the time], of course I went home with it.

This is the Tony Moly Baby Doll BB Foundation. It comes it a 30ml tube. Price is PHP 398.00. (Tony Moly stores can be found here) I got the shade in #2, and honestly thought it was too dark for my skintone, but the saleslady told me it blends really well with the skin, so I took the risk and bought it!

It is quite funny how the statement printed on the front of the tube is barely understandable. What I gathered is that this BB Foundation controls sebum production & covers flaws on the skin.

I did a first impression video on this foundation just to see how I would like it.

Let’s go through my thoughts one by one:

  • I used the Tony Moly Expert Smoothing Primer before applying this foundation to get a good base + ensure the longevity of the foundation
  • foundation looked too dark on the tube, but when I blended it on my skin using my Sigma F80 brush all I could say was “WOW!” It gave me a very seamless, dewy finish! *I have dry skin, and the dewy finish gives this radiant glow on my face—I used a bit of powder in the video to mattify my face*
  • I did not use any concealer and this foundation gave absolutely amazing coverage! I fell head over heels in love with it after that!
  • Doesn’t have a pungent smell! It smells “fresh” without a strong perfumed scent
  • Price is pretty reasonable at 398.00 (after finding out how amazing the coverage it gives!)

After a few hours of having this foundation on, I noticed a bit of shine on my T-zone (brought about by the dewy finish of the product) I don’t mind at all as I can always blot away with powder; the shine is more of a “dewy” look, not an oily one.

If you have oily skin, I would recommend using a good primer and setting powder if ever you wanna give this a try. You would be blotting from time to time.

Overall, I find this foundation super amazing because it gives beautiful coverage on the skin even without concealing!!! I’ve been using this every single day since I did the First Impression video on it.

Would I repurchase? Definitely!

  1. Hi Say,

Can I use this BB foundation alone even w/o the primer?
