PMS Breakout Buddies: For Women with Raging Hormones

DSC02312

It’s no secret how I wear makeup to school everyday. When it comes to that time of the month, I break-out like hell. The magic of concealer, foundation and setting powder makes it all disappear…but not for long! At the end of the day, you’ll have to wash all the makeup off and deal with it.

This is usually my routine in removing makeup everyday (sans the mask—which is for every other day only):

  1. Remove eye and lip makeup with Etude House Eye and Lip Makeup Remover (PHP 198.00).
  2. Apply St. Ives Fresh Skin Makeup Remover and Facial Cleanser then wash it off
  3. Pump out Neutrogena' Hydroboost Mousse Cleanser and apply it all over my face thoroughly—this will remove all the makeup, wash off afterwards
  4. Pat dry
  5. Apply Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Masque—such a tingling and cooling sensation on the face. Put on for about 15-30 minutes (I can wear it for an hour!) and rinse off—your zits should look much calmer now.
  6. Apply moisturizer (I use Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel—not in photo) and apply Benzoyl Peroxide—not in photo, on the zits (dot them on)
  7. Sleep on a clean pillow!
  8. Tomorrow you shall wake up with almost healed zits.

░ Remedies: Broken Palettes/Eyeshadows/Bronzers ░

I dropped my Dollface 96 Color Palette two times this week, causing the pans to come off the palette and the eyeshadows to crack. I expected to see eyeshadow massacre upon opening the palette after the fall, and I did. Ever had the same dilemma? The remedy is easy as 1, 2, 3.
All you're going to need:
  • Paper towel
  • Super glue
  • Clean cloth

Lay down the paper towel on the table and turn the palette down, the cracked eyeshadows will then fall off and so will the pans. Tap off the excess powders and then wipe the palette with a clean cloth. Now seeing the empty spaces, place a drop of super glue on each space and glue the pans with intact eyeshadows back on. Press firmly and this will usually stick within seconds if you're using super glue. Now you're back on track with your palette!

Now let's move on to broken eyeshadow (single palette) and bronzers. I dropped my Elianto Baked Eyeshadow Duo in 04 Gold a few weeks back. The shape of this eyeshadow is convex (bulging outward). I was so disappointed to see it shattered in pieces. Same holds true with my E.l.f. Healthy Glow Bronzer, it cracked into pieces because I dropped it again. *Take note that I did not drop all these things at the same time.* What I did was scrape off the excess from both containers and mix them together. Since the Elianto Eyeshadow has a shimmery highlight shade, it would create a hint of shimmer when mixed together with the other color in the duo eyeshadow and the bronzer as well. So just mix the two products together until you get the consistency as you would in loose powder. Now you can use this as a regular loose bronzer! Remember to tap off the excess! *By the way, I used Etude House Lashes' packaging as the container for this process.*

Remember, you can always make new things out of broken things! Don't head straight to the trash bin. I hope I was able to help you girls!

░ Remedies: MAC Dazzleglass "Sticky Situations" ░

Hey everyone! I didn't film anything today, I headed out and watched Paranormal Activity 2 with Paulo and his brother and screamed my head off four times. Tell me your thoughts about this movie! Anyway, enough blabber about non-makeup related stuff.
MAC Dazzleglass *Like Venus* submerged in lukewarm water.
Tonight I did a lot of cleaning & organizing (makeup collection). I had to throw, wipe, sanitize and categorize. Yes, you may not be aware that I have this obsessive-compulsive disorder. We'll get to that soon! But this entry in mainly for my MAC Dazzleglass.
So I store it away with my other lip sticks, glosses and balms in my vanity box (lying down, horizontally)  and one day I get hold of it and get the sticky product all over my hands! Seems like the product found its way to seep through the opening, thus giving me a difficult time to clean up. I tried storing it upright, but this stuff is too sticky it won't come down that easily. Anyway, I did not want to throw it out since I still have about 1/4 left! So poof! Came into mind was Michelle Phan's "Salvaging Your Lip Gloss" video. I've blogged about this before, you can see it here. So this trick doesn't magically make your gloss increase in terms of amount or anything, it just plainly makes the gloss melt down. I recorded a short clip in ulta fast-forward motion for you to see how this trick works! The heat from the water aids in the "melting down" process of the sticky product. After a few minutes I took the gloss container out from the lukewarm water, wiped the opening with a wet towel and stored it upright to avoid the messy situation happening again!
Got the same problem? Share your thoughts and try this method!
