Here’s an in-depth review on the newest Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Foundation.

I was intrigued by this product the moment I saw it in stores. It’s cool how makeup brands are now coming up with “airbrush” foundations in cans. I currently own a Luminess Airbrush System (my demo video here) and I think the ones that come in cans offer more convenience over airbrush systems. They basically give an “airbrush effect” quite similar to what actual airbrush systems give—without all the bulkiness and hassle.
I decided to do a first impression video on this particular product just to see how it would work in the Philippine weather.
- First thing I noticed right away (even when I tried it at the Revlon counters) was how difficult it is to control how much product you pump out. So you have to be careful else waste a lot of foundation!
- I got the shade in 050 Medium Beige (I thought this would be the perfect fit for me as my PhotoReady Foundation’s shade was around the same range—and it fits my shade well.
- Upon application (using a Sigma F80 brush, I noticed how the smell of it explodes; I don’t know if it’s just me, though. It’s not a horrible smell. I can’t describe it.)
- Coverage is pretty good. I did not have to use concealer after applying the foundation.
- After application, my face did not feel too heavy, albeit it still did feel light I had foundation on
- I noticed on cam how the shade turned darker as I was filming (perhaps it oxidized? –WHICH I NEVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE!)
- I guess a shade lighter than this would work on me.
I put the foundation to a test by experimenting how long it would last me. I used a setting powder to set it all (MeMeMe Flawless Loose Powder) since I noticed oiling up on my skin after the first hour upon application (note: I have dry skin type)
I wore it to school and filmed myself after a few hours to check on it.
- It was a humid day when I did the experiment, and just as I arrived in school, my makeup was melting away!!!!!!!!!! I had to retouch a couple of times to get rid of the shine as well
- After 7 hours, getting home from school (including several retouching as well) I looked like an oily mess. I have it on cam, so you might wanna watch the video embedded at the end of this post
My thoughts:
- This foundation is definitely not long lasting ON ITS OWN (that is, if you’re in the Philippines and considering the hot and humid weather)
- However, longevity of the foundation MIGHT be different when used together with a face primer AND a makeup setting spray *I haven’t tried it out yet since I wanted the first impression video to show how the foundation works on its own
- Again, if you’re not from the Philippines, how this foundation works might be different
- Considering I have dry skin, people with oily skin type might experience more oiliness and shine throughout the day (given they use this at the same premises that I did)
- This foundation may be perfect during photoshoot since it gives great coverage
- When used with a DIFFERENT SETTING POWDER, longevity of the product might improve
- Lastly, what did or did not work for me may or may not work for you. More often than not, no two people have the same reaction to the same product
