Have you ever wondered how certain beauty/skincare products are manufactured?

I spent an entire afternoon in a manufacturing plant for Absynthe Bath & Beauty and I am here to tell you all about it! It felt like elementary/high school all over again—I went on a field trip!

A little background about Absynthe Beauty Skincare:

  1. they offer products that are formulated with natural and organic certified ingredients with 100% natural essential oils and active plant extracts.
  2. NO PARABEN.
  3. NO HARSH CHEMICALS DETERGENTS COMMONLY KNOWN AS SLES/SLS.
  4. NO MINERAL OIL.
  5. Their EXCLUSIVE PRODUCT FORMULAS NEVER CONTAIN PETROLEUM BY PRODUCTS.
  6. Their Emu oil is SAFE TO USE on your baby's skin.

Before entering the manufacturing plant, we were made to wear protective gear: face mask, hair net, lab gown, and slippers soaked in Lysol. This step is crucial to prevent contaminating the products.

gear

I was able to step in a room with an ‘ozonator’ where they keep all the sterilized containers in. The bottles you see below are the containers for the Absynthe Pure Intention Serum.

Term: “ozonator” - application of ozone to water for disinfection. The ozonator is the device that does this.

sterilized

From the sterilized room, the containers are moved to the Filling Station where the workers carefully fill in each bottle with the product.

Next is labeling. Brand stickers are applied onto the containers.

labeling

Printing of the manufacturing date, expiration date, and “for external use only” sign is made on the bottles.

Lastly, the bottles are housed with the brand packaging.

And that’s how it’s done!
