Sedona Lace 168 Full-Color Eyeshadow Palette

sedona

I’ve been hearing about Sedona Lace from famous makeup gurus on YouTube so it was such a great surprise when I received an email from them. I was given the privilege to choose from a variety of palettes and I chose the 168 Full Color Pro Eyeshadow Palette.

“This wonderful bright set of 168 shades includes shimmer and matte finishes. Has 2 layers for portable and convenient use. These shadows are long lasting and extremely vibrant. The soft powder makes it easy to use wet or dry.”

I can’t wait to make different looks using this palette! A couple of shades from the eyeshadows really caught my attention.

This palette is definitely a great addition to my growing makeup palette collection. If you are a freelance make up artist like myself, you’d understand how essential it is to have different kinds of palette in your traincase!

Thank you, Sedona Lace, for sending this palette over. I really appreciate it!

This palette costs $29.95, PHP 1,275.66 in pesos. To order, go to this link.

Haul (Cute Flats, Wallet, Makeup)

It’s been such a long time since I last did a haul video on my channel!

haul

I bought two pairs of flats from Payless—because I needed them. I was only going to get the red pair with the huge bow design, but I just HAD to get the glittery pair! They looked so beautiful to walk in with.

New wallet from Riviera—paid 1,200 which is a bit crazy, but I guess I paid for quality! Real leather, baby! The only thing I regret is that Riviera not having it in red. I settled for Barney. Nevertheless, I love how it has a lot of pockets for cards—exactly what I was looking for.

My lash curler broke when I was in Cebu—the spring thingamajig snapped, so I had to buy a new one (same brand)! I love Elf’s Mechanical Lash Curler!

Scored two ‘The Falsies’ mascaras from Maybelline AND a FREE kohl pencil from SM Cebu Duty Free and only had to pay $16 (600++) I saved about 200++ because one The Falsies Mascara costs 449.00 in Watsons. ;)

Brow pencils/liners from Nichido in Chestnut and Tiger Eye. Chestnut is perfect for my hair color. I love Nichido when it comes to eye pencils.

Watsons released a new line of beauty tools and I have been wanting to get the facial hair remover ever since I saw it because of curiousity. I finally bought it, tried it, and shrieked in pain. It’s similar to threading! Pain pain pain (for me)

I ran outta foundation, so I had to get myself a new one. As usual, I got the James Cooper Cream Foundation in CF04.

Watch the video to see the products!

PRODUCTS AND WHERE I GOT THEM:
Red Flats with Bow design from Payless PHP700++ (discounted price from 1,250)

Facial Hair Remover from Watsons PHP89
James Cooper Cream Foundation CF04 from Watsons PHP550

My Favorite Cream Foundation

Hi everyone,

I ran out of foundation—such tragedy because it’s something very essential in my everyday makeup routine, if you ask. You might think with all the makeup I’m being sponsored (wow, I bragged there for a while, pardon me) I won’t have to buy foundation anymore. That’s not entirely the thing. I still have my preference when it comes to foundations. The only foundations that I got from sponsors that I really loved is Revlon for Less’ Revlon Colorstay and Krave Minerale’s Luxurious Perfection Mineral Foundation. No bias whatsoever. But when it comes to personally shopping for my own foundation, I always run to Watsons.

DSC09992

James Cooper, baby.

My gorgoeus friend Janica (http://www.dianejanica.blogspot.com) was the one who introduced this foundation brand to me. I have seen it [the brand] in Watsons way before but I never tried it until Janica told me how much she loved it.

Anyhoo, I bought this last week. Every single time that I do, I have to compare the shades all over again. I mistakenly thought that their shades were of ascending order (like CF-01, the lightest, 05 the darkest) NOPE! Completely false.

They all vary in undertones. I have tried CF-02 and CF-04. Both of different undertones, CF-04 having a pink one and 02, yellow.

I bought CF-04. It is the closest to my skin tone. 02 tends to look dark on me! But I don’t know why I always feel like going a shade darker is better than choosing a shade lighter!

James Cooper’s packaging changed since my last purchase, and I love it better now.

I am going to make a video on this again just to show you [better than I did before] why this is my favorite cream foundation. Expect it this weekend!

PRICE: PHP 550.00

Discovering Your Own Beauty APRIL Makeover + Fashion Segment

Welcome to the fourth episode of our "Discovering Your Own Beauty" beauty campaign!

Every month, we feature a model from our dear subscribers and give them a beauty and fashion makeover!

I am working with one of Philippines' best mineral makeup line, Krave Minerale Cosmeceuticals and have come up with this project about empowering women and boosting their confidence levels to new heights! This also includes a fashion segment with clothes from 'State of Pink' owned by Janelle Manahan, fashionista, stylist, celebrity & blogger. Megumi of Megumi International provided the stee wels (steel and jewel) accessories for the shoot. Beautifully made and hand-crafted!

Our model for the month of April is Julia Morente from Manila.

I gave Julia a very subtle yet romantic look using vanilla as an over all base color for her lids, and defined her crease using a gorgeous brown shade from the selection of single mineral eyeshadows that Krave carries. Julia has very nice features—and I accentuated them by contouring using the Pretty Young Thin contouring powder.

For the outfit, Janelle styled Julia with a sexy one-shoulder pink dress that really complemented Julia’s skintone. To top everything off, stee wels from Megumi International were added as accessories.

aprilepisode

We filmed two episodes in a matter of 5 hours with Em and Julia. We really had so much fun working together, and I am very happy to have met these wonderful ladies. I met Em during the very first Meet & Greet of Judy here in Manila, ever since, she has been so nice to me, and I am so glad to meet her again and do her makeup, even! We even rode the same cab after the shoot & shared the same experience with this weird and creepy cab driver hahaha *Right, Em?* Julia is such a sweetheart—she exudes an aura of positivity & kindness! Thank you Julia, for the generous loot you gave me—I LOVE the lotion and I can’t wait to try out the masks!

DSC_0074DSC_0075

We have been getting mixed feedback about our beauty campaign, and all we can say is there is still a lot of room for improvement. The next episode will be better—more informative, and I promise to work on it together with the whole team. Nevertheless, we stick by the aim & goal of this beauty campaign; which is to boost the confidence of real ladies/gentlemen who need it the most.

Our model for the month of March is Em Em from Quezon City. The first time I met her, I immediately loved her skin tone! Very flawless and very Pinay! Krave Minerale’s Organic Liquid Foundation in Cassata was a perfect match for her. I gave Em-em a hint of pop of color by using Banana Split and subtly smoked it out by using a dark eyeshadow on the crease.

Janelle Manahan styled Em-em’s outfit—the yellow cocktail dress definitely looked smashing on her.

Airbrushed Face Makeup (Luminess Air)

Luminess Airbrush System Unboxing (SEPTEMBER 2011): http://saytiocoartillero.blogspot.com/2011/09/luminess-air-airbrush-system-overview.html

with the video of the Luminess Airbrush System unboxing: http://saytiocoartillero.blogspot.com/2011/10/luminess-airbrush-system-box-opening.html

Hi everyone!

If you visit the links above, you will know that it took me 7 months (the kit was sent to me last September 23, 2011) to finally get the chance to sit down and do a demonstration video on the Luminess Airbrush System!

I tried to use it for quite a few times and I must admit I had to practice over and over to get the hang of it. I’ve always been used to traditional makeup application—airbrushing is a whole new thing!

If anyone is wondering, this kit is the Professional Edition kit according to https://www.airbrusheveryday.com/

Watch the video tutorial at the end of this post to see the demonstration.

Love, Say

HPIM0105

  1. Plug in the system
  2. Primer:4-6 drops into the gun
  3. Turn on system
  4. Spray on the face (airbrush gun 6 inches away from the face) Lightly pull the lever backward *the farther back you push the lever, the harsher the finish will look like*
  5. 4-6 drops of foundation
  6. Spray in circular motions with the airbrush gun 6 inches away from the face
  7. 4-6 drops of bronzer
  8. Spray lightly on the jawline, hollows of the cheeks and temples
  9. Clean the airbrush gun by putting water into the nozzle and pulling the lever all the way back, spraying out all the pigments in the gun
  10. 2-4 drops of blush into the gun
  11. Spray lightly on the cheeks, still maintaining the distance
  12. Clean the airbrush gun by putting water into the nozzle and pulling the lever all the way back, spraying out all the pigments in the gun
  13. 4-6 drops of brightening glow
  14. Spray on the high points of the face (where you usually highlight)

No need to set the makeup with powder as you will already be given a very smooth finish.

P.S. the amount of makeup that you put into the gun varies—you do not have to necessarily follow the # of drops listed in the manual.

Here is a before and after shot of my face:

airbrush

Clearly, my face looks more flawless!

You may want to use a hair cover/towel/pad while airbrushing since the makeup will get on your hair—it’s easily removable, though!

Here’s a video of the demonstration:

Night Out Makeup Look

It’s always fun to play around with eye shadow colors when it comes to putting on your makeup for a fun night out! Usually, ladies love sporting smoky eye makeup—and the combinations are endless! I came up with this look and personally wore it to dinner with my friends and a few hours of clubbing. This look photographs very well and lasted me all night long. Keep in mind that you can use any eyeshadow shade as long as they’re similar; I used satin-eyeshadows to give my eyes just the right amount of glimmer.

HPIM0068

Start off by doing your face and brow routine, I used my Luminess Airbrush System to apply my foundation (tutorial on an airbrushed face makeup coming up next)

  1. Prime your lids to ensure longevity of the eyeshadow shades
  2. Take any satin cream-colored E/S and add it as your lid base
  3. Take a blue eyeliner and apply this on the outer corners of the eyes
  4. Use a clean brush to buff the liner color out
  5. Apply blue eyeshadow over the blue liner, buff out the edges
  6. Take a purple eyeshadow and apply over the blue shade
  7. Take a glittery yellow gold pigment and apply on the inner lid area
  8. Take a highlight color and apply on the inner corners of the eyes
  9. Apply dark purple E/S on the lower lashline
  10. Darken the outer corners of the eyes using a black eyeshadow
  11. Buff harsh edges away
  12. Line your eyes
  13. Line your waterline and tightline
  14. Line the inner corners of the eyes to intensify the look
  15. Curl lashes and apply mascara
  16. Contour your face
  17. Apply blush
  18. Apply a nude lip color to finish the look

Michelle Phan’s Look (Fawn Launch)

Michelle Phan looked absolutely stunning during the launch of FAWN and I did a tutorial on a look that is inspired from what she wore. I love how the look was really edgy, and how it made a statement by itself.

HPIM0087

  1. Start off with your face and brow routine
  2. Prime your lids
  3. Apply a pearl gold/yellow gold/bronze eye shadow and apply on the inner thirds of the eyes
  4. Place tapes on the outer end of both eyes (tape trick—to get a sharp edge)
  5. Apply a satin taupe eye shadow on the outer V
  6. Use a dark brown eye shadow to darken the crease area
  7. Use a matte black eye shadow and define the tail end
  8. Use the pearl gold/yellow gold/bronze eye shadow to apply on the lower lash line with
  9. Tightline and line the outer half of the lower waterline
  10. Curl lashes and apply mascara
  11. Contour
  12. Add blush
  13. Apply a peachy pink lip color and top off with a beige tone lip paint

As I have announced in my Facebook page, we haven’t received any response from the previously chosen models (June and Mariel *Mariel sent in a late response*) which is why we had to open an instant volunteering session to be able to get replacement models as soon as possible. The reason is we are really pressed for time and the two episodes are scheduled to be accomplished within this week.

After going through all the entries, we have our MAR-APRIL models!
