Cher Lloyd ft. Mike Posner “With Ur Love” Makeup Tutorial

HPIM3521Hello everyone!

Here is another celebrity-inspired makeup look tutorial for you guys. I don’t know about you, but I’ve loved Cher Lloyd ever since I watched her on The X Factor. Remember her “Turn My Swag On” performance which floored Simon? Cher is totally amazing. I was checking out new videos on YouTube the other day (which explains my Jessie J “Nobody’s Perfect” tutorial before this) and I came across Cher Lloyd’s own music videos! I instantly fell in love with her songs and not to mention, her gorgeous makeup looks! She exudes nothing but confidence, and as they say—swag.

So here is my version of Cher Lloyd’s look in her music video “With Ur Love” featuring the sexy Mike Posner (I’m such a fan!) You can click here to be directed to the music video or scroll down to the end of this post for the embedded video.

Here are some screen caps I took for the peg:cher1cher2cher3And yes, I did make the effort to at least match the colors of my outfit in this tutorial to Cher’s in the music video—it’s all about character-playing.

Now moving on to the tutorial:

  1. Conceal imperfections (LuLu Makeup Concealer in Light)
  2. Apply foundation (Revlon PhotoReady Makeup in Medium Beige 006)
  3. Set with powder (Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Powder Foundation in Honey)
  4. Create strong brows (Nichido GNO Blackest Black Eye Pencil *I used black to match Cher’s, but given the color of my hair, I know it looks pretty weird—you can use dark brown, instead)
  5. Apply a black base on lids (Nichido GNO Blackest Black Eye Pencil *spread this all over you lids using a brush—fade out the edges)
  6. Apply black eyeshadow over the black base (MAC “Beauty Marked” E/S *blend through, create a smoked out effect from the crease outward)
  7. Line your upper and lower lashline, tightline your eyes (Nichido GNO Blackest Black Eye Pencil *line the inner corners of your eyes, as well to get that full cat-eye effect)
  8. Smudge out the black liner with a brush.
  9. Curl lashes and apply mascara (Elf Mechanical Lash Curler & Maybelline Hypercurl Volum’Express Mascara)
  10. Apply 2 layers of faux lashes for each eye (lashes from my own business + Aido lash adhesive *if you have fuller and more voluminous lashes available, use them. I used two lashes on each eye to capture the volume of Cher’s in the video)
  11. Contour cheeks (Fanny Serrano 2-Way Cake in Rajah)
  12. Apply blush (MAC Pink Swoon)
  13. Apply a nude lip color (Revlon Matte Lipstick in Nude Attitude)
  14. Top off with clear lip gloss (ELF Hypershine Lip Gloss)

For the hair, I basically curled mine using my Babyliss iPRO200 25mm barrel and gathered them all in one side—just to mimic Cher’s ‘do sans the shaved part of the head.
