The Curacao Palette from Sleek Makeup which was included in the makeup loot that Sarah of Make Up Hub by Naturele Collezione drove me to go out of my comfort zone in terms of makeup looks. I braved recreating one of Nic Chapman (Pixiwoo)’s gorgeous makeup looks—the Bright Color Blocking Eye Makeup Look. With all due credits mentioned, let us move on to the tutorial:
Note that the colors are not the exact eye shadows that Nic used. This is a mere recreation and my own version of the original tutorial.
As always, do your foundation and brow routine before hand. Watch my video on concealing, foundation, powder, contouring, blush and brows here. Next, apply lid base to make the colors adhere better and appear more vibrant. I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk.
Now moving on to the eye shadows, here is a photo of the palette with the shade names for reference:
- Take SCREWDRIVER and apply it on the brow bone area
- Take PURPLE HAZE and apply it on the outer half of the lower lash line, wing out the tail
- Take TEQUILA SUNRISE and apply it on the inner V of the eyes (down to the inner corners of the eyes)
- Take APRES MIDORI and apply this on the inner half of the lower lash line
- Take BLOODY MARY and apply it on the center lid area
- Blend TEQUILA SUNRISE to BLOODY MARY using a clean brush
- Take SINGAPORE SLING and marry this shade to the PURPLE HAZE color that we applied on the lower lash line
- Take SINGAPORE SLING and pull in inward to the outer V area
- Blend, blend blend
- Line your waterline using a white eye pencil. I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
- Take BLUE HAWAIIAN and pat this over the white eye pencil on the waterliner
- Curl your lashes and apply mascara
- Take BLUE HAWAIIAN again and brush this shade on the lashes—this will give your lashes a hint of blue hue
- Take ESPRESSO MARTINI and line your eyes without creating a dramatic wing
Now for the lips, I used Sleek Makeup’s POUT PAINT in PINKINI and used a lip brush for application.
This look is definitely very bold and vibrant! Always remember that blending is key.
